Description
The Barn is part of an historic farmstead. It was built from cob and stone in the 18th century and sits in a peaceful valley, a lovely place to get away from it all and enjoy the glorious Devon country side. It is on the edge of Dartmoor and next to the Two Moors Way. The pretty village of Drewsteignton is a couple of miles away with it's pub The Drewe Arms. The National Trust's Castle Drogo is half a mile beyond that. The Drogo Estate has beautiful walks along the River Teign The space I am an interior designer with an interest in historic buildings and my husband is a photographer. The Barn used to be my studio and before that a rehearsal studio for our son's band. Five years ago we decided to convert The Barn to a holiday cottage. We had a wonderful time creating the space and have tried to keep the alterations to a minimum so that it still sits happily with the other surrounding cob buildings. We used local traditional materials, cob, stone and lime plaster to create a light and airy space with contemporary fixtures and fittings including underfloor heating.
