Sherwood Lake Suite

We are 4 mi. south of I-70 by Sherwood Lake. Queen-sized bed with a memory foam topper. The wet bar has a sink, microwave, coffee maker & toaster oven. There is a full size fridge & a desk for computer use. The bathroom has a shower (no tub). DirectTV in the living room & TV w/Amazon Firestick in the bedroom. The suite is accessed thru our garage. ***NOTE: The interior stairwell is open to the upper main floor where we live.*** Please - no pets. Linnea is allergic to most of them. This area is in the lower level of our home which keeps it nice and cool in the summer time. There is a space heater available for the winter if needed and a fan for the summer. A pac n' play, a twin and a full-sized air mattress are available to use in the living room area if you bring kids or prefer not to share the bed with your traveling companion. Let me know. ***NOTE: Please be aware the house is designed with an open stairwell. We will do our best to be quiet for you.*** The suite is the entire lower level of our home, with about 800 s.f. available. It includes the bedroom, family room and bathroom (shower stall - no tub). There is a wet bar with a sink, coffee maker, toaster oven and microwave, as well as a full-sized refrigerator which is tucked behind the stairs. There is a desk and chair for a laptop computer and a table with chairs you can use for any meals you prepare at home. If you need to access the laundry room, it is upstairs. Just let me know and I'll show you the ropes! We will spend a few minutes to show you the space if you arrive while we are available, otherwise use the floor plan on the door. Typically our access from the garage to the main floor is through the suite, but we will use the outside stairs to enter the house, weather permitting, when we have guests. We are in a very safe area of town right by a private lake (Lake Sherwood), so taking a walk or a run in the neighborhood is really nice. I have mapped a 1.8 mile and 2.2 mile walk/run route, door to door, if you'd like to use it. There is no public transportation worth talking about from our home unless you call a taxi or use Uber. You really need a car with GPS to get around our neighborhood and Topeka. We joke that we bought our house because we couldn't find our way out of the neighborhood at night. Seriously, you do need GPS or be a really good map navigator! You are welcome to park in our driveway on the left side by the basketball hoop. You will access the suite through the garage. We wish there was a human size door available, but the house was not designed with one, so use the right garage bay door. There is a keypad on the outside. The code is available in your checkin information. You are welcome to use the kitchen upstairs if you need to prepare a meal. I have a high chair for babies. The washer and dryer are available if needed. I make banana, apple (or pumpkin, seasonally) bread for your breakfast. Let me know if you have any gluten or milk allergies, as my recipe contains both.
