Room in a tranquil California bungalow. Full size bed in private cave-like room with a separate entrance, desk, and plenty of shelf space. This room is a converted garage. 10 min to SFO, easy access to 101, Bayside Trail for biking, running, walking. Great base for exploring the SF Bay Area. If your stay is less than 30 days the City of San Mateo requires me to collect an additional 12% Transient Occupancy Tax. This will be collect upon arrival. Pets must be approved The space The Squid Cave is a quiet, secluded room set off our kitchen and laundry room. It has a full-size bed (not queen like the other rooms), so is most suitable for one person. This room is a converted garage, and has a cozy, cave like feel. Typically misty mornings, sunny afternoon light, 60 - 75 degree highs most of the year. - Shared living room with comfy furniture - Shared bathroom - Shared kitchen with gas stove, microwave, and toaster (please note there is no working oven, but we do have a small countertop convection oven to cook smaller foods) - Free use of washer and dryer (laundry detergent included) - Fast, free wi-fi (50 Mbps) - Plenty of free street parking around the house We have two other rooms in the house we rent on Airbnb, so you will likely be sharing the house with a couple other guests as well as pets. Quiet, friendly neighbors, minimal traffic, safe area. SF Bay and Bay Trail is a few blocks away for running, walking, biking. It's a typical modest suburban neighborhood built around 1950. Free, easy on-street parking, 2 minutes to freeway, 10 - 15 minute cab ride to SFO. 20 minute walk to Caltrain Station (goes to Silicon Valley, SF, BART). Cafe, taqueria, donut store, grocery, and convenience stores within a 10 minute walk. Downtown San Mateo is about 1.5 miles away and has lots of restaurants, cafes, and shopping. I enjoy meeting and hosting diverse people (international travelers, LGBTQ, old, young, etc.) A housekeeper may arrive between 10am and 6pm to clean the common areas once a week, and prepare the other rooms for the next guest. Other things to note Please note that this is a room in a shared house. You will be sharing the house, bathroom, and common areas with any other guests we have staying in the other two rooms. We do allow pets, so you may also see a furry friend or two around as well. One small, friendly dog lives on property permanently.
