Riad Porte Royale is a classic courtyard house in the historic medina of Marrakech, renovated in the purest style by its British owner, and famous for its relaxing and elegant atmosphere. With its white walls and rooms, Riad Porte Royale is a welcome contrast after an overdose of sensory Marrakech, with plenty of corners to talk in or read or take it easy, a plunge pool in the traditional courtyard for the hotter months. The exotic pink roof terrace has sun-beds, a large and airy white canopy, and views of nearby palms. It is a perfect place on sunny mornings to have our complementary breakfast, or why not ask to borrow a yoga mat? Although our staff can provide in-house catering, with excellent Moroccan cuisine, we are close to a variety of famous and popular restaurants, such as Dar Yacout, Dar Zellij and I Limoni. Our manager, who speaks English, French and Spanish, can arrange restaurant reservations, as well as any trips you may have in mind, such as to the Atlas Mountains, the Ourika Valley, and desert quad bikes, white water rafting and canyoning for the more adventurous. We can recommend spas and cookery courses. For a special occasion you can ask to hire traditional Gnawa musicians to liven up the evening for an hour or so! Guest access The roof terrace, first floor loggia, the courtyard and the Moroccan salon are open to all guests. During your stay As often or as little as the guest wishes. In general the staff are polite and keep a discrete distance until required. Other things to note For couples travelling with a baby/toddler we can provide a cot for a small extra charge, but otherwise our policy is no more than two people to a room. Please ask for a quote for other time frames or smaller groups. We can liaise with other riads for larger groups and organise celebration dinners with musicians. Transport on arrival is easily arranged.
