Look North out the Kitchen Window and you see ‘the Dome’ (~2500’) and the beginning of the ~1,000,000 acre Green Mountain National Forest. To the South, off the front porch, you are actually looking into the northern Berkshires. (House has steel darts in the garage, we try to keep plenty of Vermont maple syrup for you in the refridgerator!!) • Key box on front door combo is 0-4-2-0. Wifi is provided. The Wifi access code is ZP5Yc93T5c – can make/receive calls on WiFi with Apple iPhone 6S. Faster service soon. Cycle power on router if there are issues, recommend doing this first thing. • TRASH: when you leave, put all of the trash (in trash bags, stacked) in the garage toward the front on the left (west) by the refrigerator. • BBQ: There are two BBQs, one gas, on charcoal, use them. Dump ashes behind stone walls. • FIRE PIT: The fire pit is in the garage along with plenty of wood. Please use it outside the garage at least 20 feet from the house and when cooled down put back in the garage. Wood is in the garage. OK to look around for and burn fallen tree branches. No tree cutting. • GARAGE DOOR FACING NORTH: This door sits in a low spot. If it is above freezing during the day, and freezes at night, this door will freeze solid to the ground. Do not try of open it with garage door opener on wall without trying to pry it completely loose with crow bar in garage please. • STARTING KITCHEN STOVE: See instructions on stove, if you have any questions please call PG. • NO HOT WATER: Make sure the hot water switch on the wall going down to the cellar is ‘on’, it is marked and may be upside down. If this doesn’t work, go down to the water heater in the cellar and hold down the red button on the water heater for a few seconds. If you do not hear it light after a few tries, call or email PG. • If it is colder than minus 15 F, overnight, or anytime, please drip all facets and open doors under kitchen sink. This is a ‘biggie’. • PARKING: Please do not park on the north gravel driveway on the back of the house. (my brother Craig uses this for his business) Feel free to park on the grass next to this driveway. • NETFLIX: Email: jmbartosewcz@gmail.com Password: Vermont0420 THINGS TO DO: • READSBORO INN-great local bar/restaurant. You will see the Milky Way Galaxy overhead if it is clear. Bring as large a pair of binoculars and telescope, and a copy of the current month’s Astronomy, to see ‘what’s up there’. Meteors, Constellations, Nebulas, Satellites and ISS (Space Station) easily viewed, sky is very dark. • Nearby Trout Fishing: Go north on King Hill Road to Ruba Rd. Turn right. Estes Brook is on your left. Awesome little brook trout. Fresh water, swim or drink • Tanglewood (Boston POPS in summer) is about 1.5 hours south in Leonix, MA • Snowmobile/ATV/Cross country ski, snow shoe: go north out across the field, steer toward the lowest point in the field. You will pick up the trailhead there. Year round: Snowmobile/ATV. • Cross country ski: Go out on the fields by the house! • Jeeping/Four wheeling : Go north on Kings Hill Rd from house, turn left continue up Baily Hill to the Four Corners. Take a right. Go straight down the road, past several houses. At the bottom where there is a small stream, the road will degrade to Class 3, go up the hill. At Nabby Corner, turn right onto the old stage coach road. This road quickly enters the Green Mountain National Forest. Be prepared to walk out if you get stuck in mud/snow or get ‘high centered’. This trail is a hoot but not maintained, class 4. Use this trail if you are deer, rabbit, and quail or bear hunting. • Local events/happenings - http://www.dvalnews.com/ - Deerfield Valley News including Wilmington, Mt.
