Straw bale Cabin on the Greenbrier River

Four friends and siblings bought a gorgeous spot on the Greenbrier River and built a straw bale cabin with our own labor. Last year we added an addition to included bedrooms and indoor plumbing!! Down the super, steep mountain driveway, you will find a 7 acre meadow nestled along the river and surrounded by cliffs and woods. The river is deep enough for swimming/fishing/canoeing with shallow “rapids” below providing the water sounds. The cabin is a powerful place for us and we want to share it! The space This property is a magic spot, but the logistics of getting there are real. You will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle with clearance. Significant rain could result in a muddy road that you could get stuck in or even swell the river to make the road impassable. We will provide a website with the River gage that will let you know if the Greenbrier River is too high. If you need to cancel due to weather, we will refund you. Safety first! We would strongly recommend that you drive in during daylight hours the first time. The addition is built to code with proper handrails and all, but the original portion of the cabin is rustic with a steep ladder to the loft. When you book, I will ask that we talk by phone to be sure you are have a good idea of what to expect. We will send you a manual with details about the space. We have many friends who stay at the cabin, but we they have usually come with one of us first. This will be our first time for hosting our beloved cabin on AirBnB!
