THE VICTORY - KINGSDOWN

Formerly a fisherman's pub on Kingsdown beach The Victory is a much loved coastal retreat - in a beautiful and still somewhat undiscovered corner of England at the end of the White Cliffs of Dover and just 1.5 hours from London. The Victory has a Nordic theme inside with wood paneling and painted floorboards. It has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 8-10 comfortably. Please note: weekend bookings require a Friday and Saturday night. The space On the ground floor is a bright kitchen and dining room that opens up on to an enclosed patio, only steps away from the wild flowers, picturesque beach-huts and sweeping views of Kingsdown beach. The ground floor also houses a sitting room with wood-burning stove, a shower room and a double bedroom. There is also a cupboard full of toys, puzzles and board games to keep little ones amused even on rainy days). Upstairs is the master bedroom, a peaceful sanctuary to the adjoining sun room and terrace, a family bathroom, and a second, small double with pretty wallpaper and wonderful sea views. The top floor is a light, fun bedroom with sea views from every window. It contains a double bed and two singles, making it ideal for a second family or more friends. The Victory is walking distance (5 minutes) from the pretty village of Kingsdown - with 3 pubs, a village shop and a butcher/deli. There is a beach promenade, ideal for cycling, that takes you to Deal with its historic sites, pubs and restaurants, food and vintage shopping in 40 minutes walking, 20 minutes cycling. Kingsdown is also the ideal haven from which to explore, with Walmer and Dover Castle, Sandwich, Margate and Broadstairs all less than 30 minutes away. Guest access All of the house is available for guests other than a few cupboards and drawers as indicated. Other things to note There is a sauna off the back terrace .. perfect for a rainy day.
