The space In the beautiful countryside between Siena and Arezzo, known as Valdambra (the Valley of the River Ambra), the top floor of an ancient haybarn has been converted into a spacious apartment full of light, overlooking a perfectly preserved Tuscan landscape: a unique, harmonious blend of luxuriant oak tree woods and of well kept farmland, ( a hospitable natural environment for roe deers, foxes, porcupines, squirrels, badgers, and all sorts of birds, such as skylarks, blue-tits, nightingales, hawks as well as, near the river, kingfishers, and white and grey herons); thanks to several years of organic farming, an increasing number of butterflies dance around wild flowers . At a short distance, a century-old castle still supervises the peace and quiet of the site Carefully renovated by the owners, a couple of academics who live since 1995 in the near farmhouse , the apartment has already proved to be a welcoming holiday home, and a perfect retreat for writers, artists, composers, academics and... lovers. Nearby, horse stables and excellent riding centre, polo grounds, swimming pools, thermal springs and spas; pleasant walks through the woods lead to farmhouses, watermills, vineyards, medieval towers and charming villages where one can enjoy concerts, festivals, theatre, entertainment, food (and outlet shopping)..
