The space Blue Note House is a 19th-century, fully furnished and renovated home with a private pool. It has 4 rooms (sleeps 7), 4 bathrooms, a private pool, and sea, mountain and castle hill views. It is located 100m from Assos beach & restaurants. The Eco-friendly architecture of the two-storey building reflects a traditional Mediterranean style, with thick stone walls, private balconies for al fresco dining, barbecue, patios, sun terraces and a bougainvillea pergola. The villa is Greek tourist board (EOT) accredited. In the heart of the small seaside fishing village of Assos, it is a short walk (100m) to local amenities: the beach, two mini markets, a few tavernas, a cafe, and a bar. The holiday villa is in a quiet, central location and is not overlooked by any other properties. Blue Note House offers unobstructed views over the sea at Assos Bay, the surrounding green mountains, the picturesque village of Assos, the Venetian castle hill, and the starry sky at night. Eco-friendly elements The holiday villa has bio-climatic features drawn from traditional Mediterranean architecture, such as thick stone walls for added insulation, windows with shades, a dual aspect design for proper airing of spaces, natural shading and protection from northern winds, due to its location and orientation. A biological septic tank treats wastewater. Outdoors Details Blue Note House has great unrestricted views and is centrally located and quiet, as it sits on elevated ground. The private covered garage is on street level. The garage does not provide direct access to the house. It can accommodate one small to medium-sized car. A municipal free car park is also available 50 meters from the villa. To reach the house's external entrance, you walk up about twenty stairs from street level. A large bougainvillaea pergola covers the lower ground patio as you enter the villa grounds. One of the upper-floor verandas enjoys ample natural shade from a very large Eucalyptus tree, and tents are also available. This makes it very comfortable to sit outside, even in extreme heat or sunshine. If you want to get a tan, you can also sit in the sun on the verandas and in the pool area. When dining outdoors, you can easily transport dishes from the kitchen, as the main veranda dining area is located outside the kitchen & living area. Both upper-floor verandas have built-in seating areas. Cushions are provided. To access the swimming pool area from the upper floor, you can go down the veranda staircase without going through the ground floor. Similarly, you can access the upper floor from an external staircase when coming in from outside. Located on a separate level, the private swimming pool area is ideal for sunbathing, with a small pool (5x5x1.30 meters), sunbeds, a small table, and a small built-in charcoal barbecue. Indoors Details The main entrance is on the ground level. As you enter, on the left, there is a large bedroom with a double bed, a study and an en-suite bathroom with a shower enclosure. To the right, you'll find a common lounge area, a shower room, a WC, and a utility room with a washing machine. A second bedroom with two single beds (bunk bed) and a study is also situated there. Both bedrooms have large wardrobes and independent access to the patio and private swimming pool. The ground floor is fully air-conditioned and stays cool thanks to its thick, well-renovated 19th-century stone walls. On the upper floor, a spacious sitting lounge features sofas, a coffee table, built-in shelves with French books, a fireplace, a dining table, and a fully equipped, functional open-plan kitchen. On this floor, down the corridor, there is a large bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub, a second bedroom with two single beds (bunk bed) and a bathroom with a shower enclosure. The whole floor has central air-conditioning. The kitchen and main bedroom have access to two large verandas, with tents and built-in seating areas, ideal for a lazy breakfast, sunbathing, or dinner with sea and castle views. Separate staircases connect both verandas to the ground-floor patio, the private swimming pool area, and the villa entrance. Each bedroom on both floors has independent access to the patios, sunny verandas, and the swimming pool, in case someone wants to go outside without disturbing the other guests. If you feel like reading, the living room area has built-in shelves filled with English and French books, including novels, car magazines, and children's books, plus games and sightseeing guides to Kefalonia, Zakynthos, and nearby Greek islands.
