Comfortable & atmospheric home close to the beach

Casa Antiga: holiday home for 2 adults (18+) on the ground floor of small-scale accommodation Quinta Maragota. Originally this part of the farmhouse was the family living area and still features beautiful authentic Portuguese tile floors, renovated wooden shutters and ceiling ornament in the hallway. Now it is an attractive, comfortable holiday home with private terrace, adjacent to a large communal mediterranean garden with pool, 4km to fishing village Fuseta, beach and lagoons of Ria Formosa. The space Through a front porch (shared with one of the other holiday homes) you enter holiday home Casa Antiga (45m2), one of the four 2-person holiday homes in our small-scale accommodation Quinta Maragota. Holiday home features (all private): - Kitchen with plenty of storage space, various appliances, cooking and eating utensils. - Spacious bathroom with toilet (via a small step), large washbasin, walk-in shower and towel radiator. There is also a window for ventilation and mechanical extraction. Towels, beach towels and a hairdryer are provided. - From the kitchen you enter a hall, which still has the original antique Portuguese tile floor and ceiling ornament. - At the end of the hall, in the niche of the original front door (now unused and protected with insulated glas in front), a spacious closet has been created for clothes and suitcases. - On either side of the hall are two almost identical rooms, which can be closed off with sliding doors, also with antique tiled floors and old renovated wooden shutters in front of the windows. - One of these two rooms is the bedroom with a comfortable king size bed (180x200cm). - The other room is the living-dining room with dining table, an armchair and a comfortable sofa (90x200cm) with movable backrests and various cushions. The sofa can also be used as a bed because it has a good mattress and slatted base. Therefore, this room can also be used as a bedroom if you want to sleep in separate rooms. - For both cooling and heating, air conditioners with cold/warmth exchanger are available in the bedroom and living-dining room. - All windows in the house have double insulated glass and mosquito nets. Private terrace (20m2): Adjacent to holiday home Casa Antiga is a private terrace, divided over three levels with a fixed loungebed, a sitting area and a dining area. This terrace is adjacent to the communal garden and is shielded by many (potted) plants for an extra cosy atmosphere and privacy. Communal garden (used by a maximum of eight guests): In our large sloping Mediterranean garden, which is playfully and attractively decorated with many flowering plants and (fruit) trees, you can enjoy lots of relaxation areas to retreat in sun or shade, read a book, do some yoga or meditation in a specially designed area, enjoy a massage (pre-bookable) or have a snack and drink while listening to the many birds and crickets. To cool down there are an outdoor shower and a plunge pool with three levels for relaxation, surrounded by a green oasis of plants, olive and almond trees. The coloured sky at sunrise and sunset and many stars at night are often beautiful to watch from the garden. General information about accommodation Quinta Maragota (adults only 18+): Small-scale accommodation (maximum of eight persons), situated between fruit, almond and olive groves in the rural countryside of the beautiful Eastern Algarve and close to the beach (4km, Fuseta), offers four spacious holiday homes in an authentic Portuguese farmhouse, where persons of 18+ can stay. In this way we offer a place to people who want peace and quiet without children. The holiday homes are suitable for a maximum of two adults. The traditional farmhouse has been fully renovated (2020). All holiday homes are very comfortable in every season (with cooling in summer and heating in winter) and are smoke- and pet-free. Surroundings: The beach of the lively fishing village Fuseta is nearby (4 km). From here, and also from the beautiful coastal towns of Tavira and Olhão (both 15 minutes drive), there are boat connections to the small paradise islands off the coast. The beautiful nature reserve Ria Formosa with salt production, lagoons and many birds is very close (2km) and offers many walking and cycling opportunities. There are also lots of nice restaurants, various shops, (super)markets and places of interest at a short distance. The nearest traditional Portugese restaurant is a nice 20-minute walk away. Guest access - good accessibility - free parking on site - 30 minutes from Faro airport - car hire is recommended to explore the beautiful area - the nearest typical Portuguese restaurant is 20 minutes away on foot, a nice walk - possibilities to go from the accommodation to other restaurants in the area for example by bike or taxi (several within 5 minutes' drive) - nearest train station (Livramento) is 2 km from the quinta, a nice walk (Eastern Algarve train route from Faro to Spanish border) Other things to note - This accommodation is for adults only (18+). - Pets are not allowed. - Smoking inside is not allowed, smoking on your private terrace is allowed. - Minimum stay is 4 nights from October-May and 6 nights from June-September (or shorter last-minute, check the calendar).
