Stay in a house built in the late 1800s as a Shearers Cottage with 2 classic barrack rooms, a traditional Mess Hall/Lounge area, Kitchen with large fireplace - original condition (except bathroom). Australia at it's best.  See Kangaroos, Wallabies, Echidnas, Wombats in the wild! If you are very quiet you may even see a Platypus in the Snowy River! In summer you can swim. Guest access Guests are welcome to explore the property! Find quartz, sit by the creek - find some beautiful bush areas! we recommend solid shoes! Other things to note Just a quick note to help you prepare for your weekend; The farm is 11 km off the main road (Snowy River Way). The closest town is Dalgety which is a 20 minute drive, otherwise Berridale is 26km (30minutes), Cooma 49km (40 minutes), Jindabyne 59km (45 minutes) or Bombala is 67km (50 minutes). In Dalgety (24km or 20minures) there is great Pub and a corner store (excellent coffee) with a small range of groceries and gifts! Berridale has a bakery, a bottle shop, art galleries, coffee shops and a couple of other shops. For a reasonable shop you will need to go to Cooma or Jindabyne. There is unlimited water at the farm – fresh from the Snowy River. At times it can be very slightly brown – so bring some bottled water for drinking if you want. Please note it is safe to drink, cook with, bathe in etc and tastes amazing! Bring with you all the food and drinks you will need and a full tank of Petrol! We provide all the bed linen and towels. Closest Petrol Stations are: Berridale, Cooma, Jindabyne, Bombala The internet is via NBN Satellite and can be slow! There is also very limited download – great for email, Social media, WiFi calling etc but you will not be able to stream. We suggest pre-downloading movies and TV shows or bringing DVD’s. (We have free to air satellite TV – with a reasonable range of stations and a stack of DVDs!) So bring your food, pack your clothes - your weekend is nearly here! Remember: If it's winter in the Snowy Mountains – bring lots of warm clothes, scarves, beanies & gloves. Slippers, Ugg boots, warm PJ’s etc are a a great idea too!
