In the opposite direction, the river winds its way towards Lake Windermere (2.5 miles), a hub for water-based activities including lake steamer cruises, boat hire and scenic walking or mountain biking routes along its shoreline. Ambleside is just a little further on (3 miles), a classic Lakeland town with picturesque winding streets, independent shops, welcoming pubs and cafes, plus an independent cinema and indoor climbing wall. The painted exterior panelling of this standalone home adds character and charm, so make your way up the gravel driveway and take in the surroundings. Inside, you'll find generous rooms with high ceilings, original beams and plenty of natural light. The kitchen is well-equipped with all the essential appliances needed to prepare delicious meals.
