the Shasta
Description
The 1952 Shasta is a classic vintage trailer. Enjoy the privacy of a wooden deck, front porch that sits underneath a shade structure and outdoor antique claw tub with hot and cold running water. This is our smallest but the most private trailer. The bedroom has a full bed, the sofa bed in the living room is snugly for two. Enjoy peaceful desert vibes from the deck. Great views of sunrise, sunset and the JTNP ridge line. Bunnies, roadrunners, and quail make visits. The space Tucked away in the magic of Joshua Tree, this is more than just a retreat—it’s a portal to something beyond. A break in reality. A place to slow down, soak in the silence, and embrace the unexpected. Each unit at Rift Zero is a tiny home with its own private space, designed for peace, solitude, and just the right amount of adventure. While you’re welcome to explore the whole property, we encourage a bubble of privacy around each retreat. Think of it as your own personal hideaway in the desert. The common area is a perfect spot to gather but guests mostly keep to themselves. Fire up the BBQ, relax in the lounge space, sweat it out in the sauna, or cool off in the outdoor shower under the open sky. We also have laundry facilities available. Visit The Oracle at sunrise for coffee, tea, and a moment of reflection with tarot. This vintage trailer, a timeless icon, invites you to start your day with warmth, curiosity, and maybe even a little insight from the universe. If you’re looking for a deeper connection, take a yoga mat down to the meditation space, a quiet private space of the property designed for stillness and introspection. Whether it’s a morning flow or simple breathwork, it’s the perfect place to tune into the desert’s rhythm and let the energy of the landscape guide you. At night, get ready for some of the best stargazing you’ve ever seen! We follow Dark Sky Association guidelines, meaning no harsh lights—just endless constellations stretching across the sky, and dead silence, except for the occasional coyote call. We’re all about living in harmony with nature, so we use permaculture methods like greywater systems, rainwater harvesting, greenhouse gardening, and repurposed materials. *Quick note: in the kitchen, the right sink is for black water (your regular sink), and the left sink is for greywater (rinse only). Showers and bathroom sinks are also part of the greywater system, so please stick to eco-friendly products. And sorry, but bleach is a no-go. Kick back, explore, and let the desert work its magic. We hope you leave feeling inspired. Guest access Check-in is at 2pm and check-out is at 11am. Guests have access to private trailer and are provided with parking for two vehicles. Other things to note The majority of Rift Zero is not suitable for pets due to the cacti on the property, however we do have one trailer called "the Long-Long Trailer" which is suitable for dogs, with the proper temperament ;) It has a private fenced yard and a doggy door. We have 1 outdoor cat on property, and a very friendly full grown Malinios that keeps the coyotes away. There are outdoor security cameras. They are placed strategically to provide you with privacy while still serving as a guardian of the property. Cameras are not monitored in real time but recordings are automatic for security.
