Tranquil Family Cottage on Island-like Peninsula

There is something special about a cottage you can't get to by road! Away from the noise of cars. Nestled in the woods, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, you will quickly unwind and embrace your tranquil surroundings. This 3 bedroom cottage that is water access only, is tucked into a quiet bay with all the benefits of a pristine 7 lake chain, but far less boat traffic. The crystal clear lake and the water at the end of the dock is 15 ft deep and ideal for diving and swimming. The space This is a Water Access Only family cottage on Lake Catchacoma in the Kawarthas which is about 2-2.5 hours north east of the Greater Toronto Area. You need to bring your own boat, or rent one from the Catchacoma marina or use a water taxi from the marina. You have the use of a reserved parking spot for your car at the secure, well-run marina at no additional charge. The cottage is approximately a 5-7-minute boat ride from the full-service marina. We take GREAT pride and care in our newly renovated and furnished "home away from home" and are only renting it out for a few weeks each summer during prime "cottaging time" to cover our yearly taxes, fees etc. There is a strict maximum of 4 guests ( and no pets) to: 1. Minimize the environmental footprint on our peninsula 2. Allow guests to have comfortable sleeping arrangements 3. Both respect and minimize noise levels for our neighbors THIS is NOT a PARTY COTTAGE. There are neighbors on both sides (however as the cottage is set back and elevated from the lake it is still somewhat secluded), and we are only renting it to small families and or couples (or singles) who will respect the cottage, property and the tranquil environment. Master bedroom fully renovated in 2025! Upper deck and stairs to be fully replaced and renovated by June 2026! Again, the common spaces and sleeping arrangements comfortably house four guests (including young children and infants) MAXIMUM. Trent Lakes STRA Registration # pending. Guest access ACTIVITIES AT YOUR DOORSTEP: • Explore the lake by canoe, kayak, or pedal boat all of which are included by the owner for your use. • The recently built sun room beckons you to curl up and read a great novel while taking in the outdoor views from the wrap around windows overlooking the lake. • New dock (June 2020) that extends approx. 50 ft out from the shoreline and has ample room to sit in the sun, dive into the lake etc. • Have a small fire at night or play some horseshoes during the day. • Canoe through the 2 portages, one on Bottle Lake and the other on Sucker Lake. • Boat through the 7-lake chain for an amazing navigation experience. • Fishing for small and large mouth bass and trout is always fun for the kids and adults alike. • Hiking trails nearby to explore the wonderful outdoors. As our guest you have access to our: • Outdoor fire pit, horseshoe pit, kayak, large canoe, pedal boat, and a swing for small children (under 50 lbs.) are included. • A 10 ft. by 12 ft. deck overlooking the lake is adjacent to the Florida room has sun most of the day and has outdoor patio furniture. • The Florida room is screened in, tall 12 ft. plus arch ceiling with a large overhead fan and has patio furniture and overlooks the lake. • Inside there is a 32-inch wall-mounted flat screen SMART TV (with satellite channels) with both a Blu Ray player (a couple of dozen DVD movies included). • WIFI service is provided through a hotspot device that is provided on site. • Board games and books are included as well. • Overhead fans are in all bedrooms including two in the main living area (a must for those hot July-August days and nights) • There are four bedrooms- three of which are available to use. The other is locked to store our personal items. • New low flush composter toilet, shower and sink in the bathroom. There is a simple 3 minute maintenance procedure that needs to be done every second day at the back of the cottage where the toilet composter drum unit is located. • Full-sized fridge and stove, coffee maker, toaster, microwave oven, small smoothie blender, complete cookware and dishes, utensils, and glassware. • Water cooler (with one large full bottle included) and a propane BBQ (one full tank included). Start-up supply of paper towels, toilet paper and dish soap included. I also include one small bag or pil of firewood ( assuming their is no municipal fire ban in effect at the time) to get you started. • Bedrooms include all required linen but due to COVID 19 we encourage guests to bring their own. Other things to note Usually its a Sunday to Saturday stay...however there are some Sunday to Sunday as well as possibly mid-week to mid-week stays as well all depending on the availability of the cottage. Please don't hesitate to ask even if the calendar shows that it is unavailable.
