Bo peep Getaway, where nature comes home
Bo peep Getaway, where nature comes home
Description
Bo Peep Getaway is a Beautiful Home Away from Home. It is a Forest Lodge located in the foothills of the Sayadhri range and has access to a gorgeous dam and waterfall in the monsoons. It offers a comfortable spot to take in majestic hills, mount an expedition to Bhimashankar or closer trails or just sit still and soak in the peace and quiet. A Local meal can be ordered from the care taker at a nominal cost. The menu is in the kitchen photos. It's the perfect place to unwind in nature. The space The house is set in a private property with ample parking. A large Balcony skirts two sides of the house and overlooks a gorgeous seasonal dam . The house has 2 bedrooms with king-size beds and the Hall/ dining area has two sofas which can be used as single beds. There are two washrooms and the house can comfortably accommodate 6 adults. We are pet friendly but would like to host your pet as well. Please do keep your pet leashed when the caretaker arrives so as not to have any untoward incidents. There is a spacious dining/ kitchen area stocked with utensils, crockery and cutlery, gas stove, microwave , fridge and other necessities to cook up a meal. The house has an Invertor and in case of a power failure, please reduce the electricity consumed as it is not always possible that power will be restored quickly in the area. There are candles provided for this eventuality. There is a small private outhouse at the top of the property for use of the owners; as and when they may want to reside on the premises. It has its own gate access and is completely separate from the main house where the guest resides. One point to note is that as the nearest big market is approx. 7 Km away it is good idea to come in with all you require. We provide an Aquaguard with drinking water. We do not have Wi-Fi as there is no network dongle that works reliably in the area and the fiber optic cables are not yet accessible or convenient. Vodafone and Jio have a good connectivity but Airtel connectivity seems to be poor in the area. It improves towards the road and towards Khandas village. Guest access Guests may park multiple cars on the property. There is covered parking for 2 cars. Other things to note The closest stores are quite basic and located far away (approx 7Km). We recommend that the guests carry their medicines and any special provisions they will need. A Local meal can be ordered from the caretaker at an nominal cost and has to be ordered in advance. A bonfire on a chilly night is a good option which can be taken care of by the caretaker for a small tip. Treks to the waterfalls and the surrounding hills can be undertaken. If you need a guide, the caretaker can be requested to be your guide for a nominal charge. The Waterfalls and streams dry up in the winter months and are best enjoyed during the monsoons. The trek to Bhimashankar temple from Khandas village has been closed off from January to March 2026 due to a landslide. The summer months from March to May can be hot. The house itself is cool and we have air coolers in both the bedrooms. The cool early morning hours can be utilized for walks and karvanda picking . The water holes have dried up but a trip to the Khandas dam can be on the cards. Star gazing at night is truely magnificent as there is no light pollution. We have no ACs as the entire power of the surrounding area and villages would trip if we pull so much electricity. The caretaker and his wife/mom will spend the night in the outhouse so that our guests are comfortable in their surroundings as we realise the quiet seclusion of the house may take some getting used to.
