Pension Theresa is an almost 700 year old building of the Venetian era with some Turkish extensions & lots of Atmosphere. Used by Venetians and Turks as administrational offices. Plates with merchant/ trading records in Old Turkish script (Arabic) have been found and been given to the museum. Each room was occupied by a single family. A kitchen was on each floor and families cooked together. In the 60’s it was bought by a young doctor and used as a hippy commune. It was later run as a hostel by a cretan neighbor of George who gave the hostel the name of his love, a girl from Britain named Carry-Theresa..
