Description
Valley View is a cosy two bedroomed former barn set on a working equestrian livery yard on a family farm and owned by a renowned Cornish artist who works from the studio. Horses graze in the fields and chickens free range in the front paddock. The farm enjoys far reaching views towards Mylor and the Roseland. It is set in a secluded location behind the A39 but within a 10 min walk to Falmouth University where there is a bus service to all the main routes and a 20 minute walk into Penryn. The space Valley View is a detached, converted barn dating from the 1860s. It formerly housed cattle and chickens with the old stables (the remains of which now form the patio). Valley View has been in our family for over 120 years and we are delighted to welcome you to stay. An ideal getaway for couples or families. While tucked away from the main roads, we are very close to all local amenities with major supermarkets just minutes away. Falmouth University is within 10 mins walk and also hosts all the major bus routes. Many parents come to stay to visit their sons and daughters who study there. There is a driveway with plenty of room for any type of vehicle. There is also alternative parking next to the drive for those who prefer to keep the driveway clear or have more than one vehicle. The front door opens into the cosy sitting room furnished with comfortable sofa and armchairs and original artwork. Enjoy watching television provided through FreeSat or just sit and read one of the books from the bookcase. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you may need for your stay including stovetop coffee pot, cafetiere, teapot and microwave. We supply tea, coffee and sugar with milk in the fridge. Upstairs, are two bedrooms with far reaching views across our fields to The Roseland. One with a luxurious king sized bed and one with twin beds On sunny days and warm evenings you can enjoy sitting on the patio - the remains of the old stables - with a coffee or glass of wine watching the chickens and horses in the surrounding paddocks. We like to keep the back garden fairly natural to accommodate the many birds and wildlife that also share it. At night you may hear the foxes and owls on their nightly ventures. In the mornings, the rabbits play in the surrounding fields and the squirrels play in the trees. A welcome hamper of goodies will await you and we will take delivery of any shopping you may order for your arrival. All bedding and towels are provided. Guest access You will have the whole cottage and gardens. Our guests are welcome to walk the tracks around the farm but please be aware that there are horses and riders around the property. Well behaved dogs are very welcome but must be kept on the lead at all times outside the property. If you would like to find out more about the horses, please contact me and I will happily introduce you to our own private horses.
