आगंतुक I Aagantuk (n.) someone who is visiting a place or someone. Origin: Sanskrit Aagantuk Homestay is nestled in a quiet neighbourhood close to the heart of the city. It’s a fully furnished three-bedroom house with a kitchen and a generous living room in our family house. It’s an ideal place to relax and enjoy the holiday time with friends and family. The house looks out at the iconic Bhujiyo Hill to the east and a garden and the cityscape to the west. The space Being centrally located most basic needs while travelling such as pharmacy, clinics, provision stores, street food etc can be found in less than 1 Km radius. Our kitchen is equipped to cook a light meal after a long day of being on the move. Our home is part of a family home and is on the second floor, which could be a hindrance for old age guests and guests who are differently-abled. Our Offerings Aagantuk is proud to share two listings ideal for for designers, travel enthusiasts and like-minded creative heads who are visiting Kachchh and would like a long stay. These listings are designed to host guests who like to be independent during their stay! We are small family run homestay with limited amenities which we often try to make up for with our hospitality. Guest access Need a space to sit back and catch up on some work on the go? Feel free to drop in at our design studio! During your stay At Aagantuk we love to give you a personal touch during your stay. We usually interact over breakfast with you and while registration. Other things to note Travel Advisory We love to guide our guests for what to expect during their visit to our beautiful side of the country, please take our suggestions as advisory only. • Bhuj can get fairly cold and dry during peak winters specially for those coming from warmer regions. Thermal comfort is subjective so please pack as per your tolerance. Moisturisers and sunscreen come handy due to dryness and clear blue skies. • During peak winter the water in the overhead tanks at the homestay can get quite cold. We have storage geysers in all rooms for heating the water. We suggest guests to account for about 15-20 minutes for the water to heat. • We offer shampoo and body wash/soap bars. Guests are advised to carry their own personal care/hygiene products, grooming, dental, and shaving kits. • At Aagantuk we offer only breakfast when pre-booked at the time of booking as guests are often out and about exploring through the day. For those looking for lunch and dinner recommendations feel free to reach out and we would be happy to share some of our go to places to align with your preferences. Bhuj also has online delivery aggregators like Zomato and Swiggy for those looking to order in. • Bhuj being a small town does not have ride hailing services like Uber or Ola, but there are plenty of ways to get around. Bhuj has auto rickshaws, chakdas (larger auto rickshaws), private taxi services, car and bike rental agencies. Guests are advised to pre-book private cabs for local travel as they may be in short supply during tourist season. • For intercity travel/transport we are connected by buses operated by government and private operators, Indian Railway and by air. Guests are advised to pre-book their tickets for hassle-free travel. • Being a district with a sensitive international border to the west and north with an active army/military presence, guests are at all time advised to keep the official original copy of their photo ID on person. International guests are advised to keep their passports and other important travel documents such as visa handy. House Rules At Aagantuk Homestay we have a universal policy for all guests. Being a family home in a residential neighbourhood our house rules may vary from other properties. Guests are expected to respect the house rules. Following are the house rules: • Quiet Hours: 10:00PM - 08:00AM. During these hours guests are to not play loud music or have loud conversations which may disturb other guests or neighbours. • Personal Guests: Nothing better than having a local friend or family visit you during your stay, guests may invite personal guests between 10:00AM - 09:00PM only. • Housekeeping: We do not have a full time caretaker/help for housekeeping. Our help for housekeeping comes on prior request and is subject to availability. Guests are expected to keep the space clean. For stays longer than 2 nights, linen is changed every third day of the stay. Guests are expected to do their own dishes. Breakfast vessels are collected and cleaned on our end. • Use of Household Appliances: We welcome guests to use the refrigerator for keeping food and beverages. Use of washing machine comes at no extra cost, guests may reach out for how to use the machine. Guest are to use their own detergent. • Surveillance: We have a CCTV at the entry landing to monitor the entry doors. For guest privacy none of the private spaces are monitored. Guests are to keep their valuables on person. • Driver/Personal Help Accommodation: We do not offer accommodation or use of the facilities on property for drivers or personal help assisting you for your travels. It is left to guest discretion to find appropriate accommodation for them. • Parking: We do not have a dedicated/private parking space. Plenty of street parking is available at your own risk. • Mindful Usage of Utilities: We expect guests to be mindful with usage of utilities like water and electricity. Should there be any unforeseen power outages or water shortages during the stay, guests are expected to be accommodative of the situation. We can keep you posted on the updates. • Our kitchen is vegetarian only. While we can’t monitor every aspect of your stay it is highly appreciated that guests respect this not only for us but for other guests who may be sharing the space or checking in after their stay. • Consumption of alcohol, smoking and possession or use of narcotics/drugs is strictly prohibited on the premises. The host reserves right to terminate the booking with no refund whatsoever. In case of illegal possession/consumption of alcohol or narcotics we are obliged to report the guest to law enforcement. • While we would love to host guests travelling with their furry partners, we do not entertain pets on the premises as not all guests are comfortable with pets on property and for many fur may be an allergen. • We do not host unaccompanied minors. Any guest below the age of 18 at the day of check-in must be accompanied by an adult be it a family member. Housekeeping All rooms are cleaned prior to check-in. Guests are requested to dispose any and all trash in the bins provided in the rooms and kitchen. Any product or edible items that may attract ants, emit a foul smell, or degrade are to be disposed in the communal bin on the street. Our help for housekeeping for short stays (2 nights or lesser) comes only after the guests check out. For those staying 3 nights or more the help for housekeeping is scheduled for every third day of their stay. Guests are advised to keep their valuables on person or be present when the rooms are being cleaned. Aagantuk homestay does not bear responsibility for loss or damage of personal belongings. On demand housekeeping is subject to availability and may be chargeable. Breakfast & Kitchen The most important meal as they say. Breakfast menu at Aagantuk has evolved over the years for guests convenience. Following is our standard offering for breakfast: - Bread - Butter - Jam/Fruit preserve - Cereal - Milk - Packaged fruit juice - Cookies/biscuits - Local savouries - Seasonal fruit* *Subject to availability. We try to source the best Bhuj has to offer. We all have a specific taste for our morning tea/coffee, our kitchen is stocked with tea leaves, coffee sachets and sugar. If you are coffee lover we got you covered, we offer freshly ground beans (on request) which can be brewed using a French Press. We expect guests to use the appliances provided with utmost care and keep the kitchen clean.
