The Lakeside Lodge

Our outhouse at the back of our garden has been lovingly transformed into a cosy, modern studio apartment. With underfloor heating, large sofa's & kitchen /breakfast area it has everything you want for a short or long stay! Separate entrance also makes it private so you can come and go as you wish. If you do want to go ahead and book, please check out our house rules first. The space We look forward to welcoming all guests and travellers alike! Inspired by our other AirB&B listings we wanted to transform and make use of the purpose built annex at the bottom of our garden. You won't really find a more superb location, which offers a peaceful, relaxing getaway in one of the most desirable locations in Cardiff, yet only a short trip to enjoy what the City Centre has to offer. (8 minutes by car/taxi and one stop by train). We are situated on Cardiff's prestigious Lake Road West, a unique location with the Lake having recently been awarded the prestigious 'Green Flag' award. We have previously hosted many guests in our main home but this annex gives people the opportunity to have their own base with a private entrance. A perfect location for trips to concerts, sporting events at the Principality stadium, for parents to visit their children at Cardiff University and also work trips to the nearby University Hospital of Wales (a 10 min walk) or of course the City Centre. Guest access There is an open plan living space with a super comfortable King bed, lounge area with "L-shaped" sofa, kitchen and breakfast bar area with sink, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge freezer. All linen & towels are provided, as are light refreshments. Other things to note Access The lodge is accessed via the side path to the main house from Lake Road West. Key is available via a lockbox on the side of the house. Early Check in / Late Check out There is an extra charge for an early check in of £10 and a late check out £10 - please give at least 1 days notice to ensure this is possible. Heating There is an electric radiator to warm the room, & however the floor is tiled and so it’s a good idea to bring slippers ! Please do not leave the radiator on a high temp when you go out ☺️. By Car / Uber: Cardiff City Centre 8 min Train: Heath High / Low level is a 10 min walk which will take you to the Cardiff Queen Street (1 stop) in 3 minutes or Cardiff City Centre (2 stops) in 5 min. Change at Queen Street to get to Cardiff Bay. For Principality Stadium - Take train to Cardiff City Centre For the Utilita Arena - Take Train to Cardiff Queen St We are also only a 5 -10 min short walk to the University Hospital of Wales (UHW) so are perfectly situated for courses / working here. For trips further afield: Brecon Becons 45 min -1 hour Bike Park Wales - 45 min The 4 waterfalls - 45 min The Gower (Swansea / Mumbles) - 1 hour
