The space This relaxing, quiet bright room in our sunny Craftsman home on a quiet street awaits your stay. If you prefer a room in a spacious single family home and not the close quarters of a small studio or a busy hotel, this place is for you. We are in a sleepy, safe suburban beach town a world away from the hustle and bustle of LA. Our bedroom is downstairs so we spend most evenings down there; we are empty nesters so we are the only ones living here. We will follow your lead with respect to privacy. This is the perfect home base while you are out exploring the area! The bedroom is furnished with a very comfortable queen-size bed with pillow-top mattress, as well as TV for streaming Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and more. There is a mini frig and microwave in the room with fresh cream for your coffee, as well as a portable AC during the warmer months. There are two bathrobes for your use if you wish. Fresh sheets, towels, luggage rack, and an extra blanket are provided in addition to shampoo, soap, and a hair dryer. There are no fragrances in the room and all linens are washed with scent-free soap and no dryer sheets. There is plenty of ample closet space and a lock on your door for privacy. All the things you love in a hotel; none of the things that you don't. I also provide a printed guidebook for you, with recommendations for local shopping, restaurants, etc. This can also be accessed on line via this listing. There is plenty of free parking No kitchen use. There are no stairs to climb. Please, no children under 10, for safety reasons. Your private bathroom comes with two sinks, plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Both the bedroom and bathroom are cleaned and sanitized from top to bottom with each new arrival. Laundry room and iron also available for a quick load. This room and the adjacent (empty) room are also listed as a 2-room suite that accommodates up to four people; if you have trouble finding that listing, please inquire . Once this room is reserved, the other adjacent room is blocked so you will always have a private bathroom. We will provide a light "grab and go" style breakfast for your first morning (fresh fruit, some type of yummy bread or cereal bar) in addition to in-room coffee with a Keurig coffee maker and microwave along with an assortment of gourmet coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. No main kitchen use, but you are more than welcome to enjoy your take-out in the front room or front porch. NOTE: Our daughter’s dog, Tobi, visits from time to time. He is a super friendly Australian Shepherd. Please consider another place if you have pet allergies or are not a dog person. We have a lock box available for very late check in, and are happy to hold bags before or after check-in/checkout times. Guest access You may use our washer/dryer, iron and printer if desired. The front room and front porch are available to enjoy a meal or morning coffee. Please note, we have pool, but it is not for guest use. Just mentioning for the sake of safety. Please do not book this house if you have a child who does not know how to swim. Please, for safety reasons, no children under 10; our home is not child proofed. During your stay I work at home and my office is downstairs, so I will most likely be busy with work much of the time. I am usually available to answer questions or give recommendations in the local area, but the house is plenty big enough for privacy to be respected if that is what you desire. We are a very friendly couple and love to meet new people from all walks of life, which is why we enjoy hosting. However, we will follow your lead with respect to interaction. We have lived in this town our whole life and know the local and surrounding area very well, so are more than happy to help you get to know your surroundings. For late arrivals or when we are not home, a lock box with instructions will be available. After your arrival, we will give you a key so you can come and go as you please.
