Windermere Lodge - Idyllic peaceful bush retreat

Wake up in the morning to just the sounds of the birds in your retreat set in 10 acres of rural paradise. From your private terrace, set amidst the beautiful gardens, you can wander freely through the grounds. Our property is home to a great many native species, including wallabies and over 100 species of birds. We have no domestic pets. Head into Samford village for a coffee at one of the many iconic coffee shops, or take a stroll through the nearby rainforests of Mt Glorious and Mt Nebo. The space The well appointed air-conditioned guesthouse is attached to the main homestead but is completely private, with its own front door. Everything is on one level and it is very suitable for those in a wheelchair. The bedroom is very spacious with a queen sized bed, and a day bed which converts to two single beds to accommodate children. All bed linen, towels and basic toiletries are supplied. There is plenty of storage and hanging space and a work table with free wifi connection. The ensuite bathroom has a shower, toilet and basin and a hairdryer. In the spacious living room, the fireplace provides a cosy focus for cool winter nights and firewood can be supplied. There is a comfortable 3 piece suite for lounging. A ‘smart’ TV with Netflix, small library plus toys and games are provided for your enjoyment. The kitchenette is provided with a sink, small fridge, microwave oven and induction hotplate and the drawers are well supplied with cooking utensils, kitchenware and tea and coffee making facilities. A slow cooker, electric frypan and air fryer are also available. A circular timber dining table adjoins the kitchenette. The private terrace boasts a large table for alfresco dining and a gas barbecue. Covered parking is available for one car and there is room for additional cars, large vehicles, trailers, boats or storage containers to be parked onsite. Our beautiful soft rainwater is stored in our tanks. We have no town water and guests are respectfully requested to be conservative in their use of water. In addition, we use a septic system and nothing except toilet paper is to be put into the toilet. Guests should note that we have 3 unfenced dams on the property. Your children are your responsibility and must be under your supervision at all times. We do not assume liability for any case whatsoever. There is an external security system for general peace of mind. The camera on your private terrace is disabled during your stay. Guest access You may wander at will over our entire 10 acres. From the open top of the hill watch the sun set behind the mountains, or wander down through the orchard to the rainforest with a seasonal creek bed at the bottom.
