Canava 1870 is the place where tradition meets today’s standards. An authentic Cycladic old distillery and winery, built in 1870, recently remodelled into a villa by the owner, who's an architect. This Villa is ideal for 10 people and it offers all the amenities you might need for a perfect vacation. Moreover, it has access to the big, private yard and multi-level patios and terraces with a view that's pure bliss. The space Canava 1870 is a perfect blend of yesterday and today. It's a traditional complex of 2 renovated villas that used to be a traditional winery and distillery. The villas are in perfect harmony with the the landscape and truly respect their history. The Traditional Villa consists of 2 bedrooms with a double bed, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, a bathroom and a fully equipped traditional kitchen. The Art House, a spacious loft, consists of a vast room with a double bed, 2 single beds, a bathroom, a kitchen, a dining room and a rest area. All rooms have direct access to the private yard, as well as the patios and the main terrace. The yard has a cool temperature (20-23 degrees Celsius) all summer long, because it's built with black volcanic stones. It has a long table that's ideal for endless lunches or dinners of big groups, as well as another sitting area that's perfect to enjoy a cup of coffee or an aperitif. Moreover, the patios and the terraces are ideal for sunbathing or simply gazing at the Aegean deep blue Sea and the gorgeous islands of Sikinos, Folegandros and Ios. Guest access Cars are allowed in the village, except up to a point 300 meters from the main street where the house is located (a 5-8 minute walk). The house is situated just 1km from Oia, which is about 15 minute walk. Oia offers access to the breathtaking caldera, as well as a wide variety of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, and more. If you need a transfer from the airport/port, we would be glad to help you out and arrange it for you. Other things to note You can reach Canava 1870 in Finikia from the airport or the port by car. You follow the direction to Fira, then the direction to Oia, and after 9km (towards Oia) you'll meet Finikia. Please, let us know if you want to rent a car, since we can get you a discount. Upon Arrival: We can arrange for a taxi or a mini van to pick you up. Since cars are not allowed within the traditional settlement of Finikia, we can arrange for a porter to pick you up and bring you to Canava 1870, as well as a baggage carrier or a donkey (depending on availability) to carry your luggage, free of charge, and get an authentic taste of Santorini immediately. The walk to Canava 1870 is 300m, through a stone paved path.
