Nellie’s Lake Retreat

Remodeled home on Lake Allatoona - only land between our home and the lake is property owned by the Army Corp of Engineers. You can walk down to the lake and enjoy the sights and sounds. Speaking of sounds you will faintly hear train horns on occasion throughout the day and night (sound travels across the lake). The house is open and bright, it faces South so plenty of light even in winter. Enjoy sitting on the deck or in the covered patio and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. The space Semi-secluded home on the lake however views are obscured by trees except the winter time. Close to LakePoint Sports complex and Downtown Acworth. You’ll get your exercise walking from the house to the lake and back up to the house. Guest access Its not a party house or even small gathering (friends and family). There is limited parking and I don’t want my neighbors to have anything to complain about. This home is for family or friends traveling to the area for sports or visiting other family on other premises. It’s easier to mention the places that should not be accessed around the home. The garage, behind the house (there really is not much of a backyard), the crawl space and storage unit under the deck. While the enclosed lanai is available and must be entered to get to the house you should know there are 5 steps up to the lanai. You should also know that there is a rather steep driveway (100 feet) that must be climbed to get to the steps. Best to have on sneakers or comfortable shoes. High heels are strongly discouraged. The driveway has cracks and a heel may get into a crack. Other things to note The kitchen is pretty well stocked with spices and utensils. It’s not a gourmet kitchen but does have Maytag (reliable) appliances and nice ceramic/porcelain plates, bowls, and mugs. The house is a vacation home so I like it to have the comforts of home but you won’t see family photos and the cupboards are pretty bare. There are usually condiments in the fridge left from previous guests so please return the favor and replace an item or two.
