Ty Log is a lovely log cabin in a fantastic location close to the Carmarthen coast. The newly built property has been constructed to a high standard, with a focus on ensuring the accommodation is accessible and comfortable for everyone, including wheelchair users. Ty Log overlooks several ponds which attract wildlife including swallows, swifts, ducks, geese, dragon flies, frogs and even an otter visited, all which makes for great entertainment. The owners have blended traditional materials with modern features to create a holiday retreat that can sleep up to five people and is perfect for couples, families and friends.The cabin is on a former working farm and surrounded by peaceful views of green fields and landscaped gardens. Ty Log overlooks several ponds which attract wildlife including swallows, swifts, ducks, geese, dragon flies, frogs and even an otter visited, all which makes for great entertainment. The cabin is situated to give privacy and is not over looked by the owners house or the other holiday home. Having two holiday lets within the six acres of land has the advantage of families and friends coming away together but having their own space to retreat to. Green Castle woods is less than a 5 mins drive, ancient woodlands which is a great haven for wildlife and carpeted with bluebells, wild garlic and other wild flowers in springtime. There are also hay meadows an area of wet pasture, a stream and a delightful waterfall. The whole wood is criss crossed by centuries of old hedges, walls and sunken lanes. The Carmarthen coast is delightfully unspoiled and a favourite holiday destination where generations of holiday-makers return year after year for its two quiet unspoilt sandy beaches - The Green and Scott's Bay, the latter of which is especially good for fishing. Llansteffan is only four miles from Ty Log, with a Norman castle standing proudly above the village where there is a village store with cafe and pizzaria, two pubs and a small art gallery. Also on the Green another cafe, fish and chips and icecream bars. There is also a boat club close by. Only ten minutes away by car is the county town of Carmarthen. The ancient town, believed to be the oldest in Wales is steeped in history, myths and ledgends There is a wide variety of places to eat, drink and shop, as well as a choice of supermarkets, a cinema, bowling alley and the Gwili Steam Railway. There is plenty to see and do whatever season you visit. There are miles of beaches to explore both in Carmarthen and also in nearby Pembrokeshire and The Gower. The Brecon Beacons National Park and Brecfa Forest are less than an hour's drive, offering plenty of footpaths and mountain bike trails leading to impressive views and, being Wales, there is no shortage of castles to discover. The owners of Ty Log have created a space that is welcoming and comfortable in every season. Guests can sit on the sunny, south-facing deck in the summer or admire the view through double-height windows from the comfort of the sofa in winter, kept cosy by the log burner and triple-glazing. Whether you are enjoying a family holiday with the kids or getting away for a romantic holiday in the Welsh countryside, Ty Log will not disappoint. Please note: The ponds are NOT fenced off and therefore Ty Log may not be suitable for some families with young children. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children at all times. Guest access Guests have access to the full property and it is their private space. Other things to note We have unfenced ponds so the property is only suitable for children of 8 years and above.
