Description

Our place is close to Tahoe City & several ski areas (Homewood, Alpine & Palisade). In a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to Sunnyside. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, & families (with older kids- not toddler proof). There is a new Bear queen bed, comfy bunk bed & a couch that folds in to a single bed. Stroll down to Sunnyside for dinner, Firesign for brunch or to the private Tahoe Park Beach down the street! The space Please read the entire listing prior to booking. This will ensure you don’t book if our place & your expectations don’t align. The studio is cozy and private. Living and Sleeping area all in one room with separate kitchen and full bath, including laundry. Front patio to relax on. The studio has a wall heater & space heater (most do not need) to keep warm during the winter & a tower fan for cooling off in the summer. The cabin is close to the bike path to walk, bike or run the west shore. Walking distance to bike, kayak, SUP, jet ski and boat rentals & the private, gated Tahoe Beach Park - guests have access to the private beach. The private Tahoe Park beach has horse shoes, bocce ball, 2 piers, swim area for kids, kids playground, sand volleyball courts, bathrooms & of course the private beach. The cabin is a 5-10 min drive to Homewood Ski resort/Obexers Marina, 15 min. drive to Alpine & Palisade Ski Resorts. Tahoe House Coffee (A FAVORITE) is 1.5 miles (bike paths the entire way if you'd like to walk or ride a bike to grab incredible baked goods like the Swiss Chocolate Croissant. Close to trails for biking, running and hiking the beautiful west shore. NOTE: We provide toilet paper and paper towels to get you started. Tahoe Park is a desirable neighborhood & the studio is the most affordable option in the neighborhood. This isn't high end, but a clean, well cared for, comfy spot to enjoy your time in Tahoe! Guest access The studio comes with a microwave, full range, fridge, coffee maker & washer/dryer. Easy access to trails, beach, and Sunnyside amenities. You also have access to the shared back yard - if children are playing in the back yard please ensure they stay on the studio cabin's side of the yard & are not playing in the cabin next door's space. Other things to note SUMMER: The studio cabin has parking for 2 vehicles in the driveway and parking on the street as well. The front patio deck is a great place to hang out during the summer. There is a main cabin next door. The homes are not attached. WINTER: The cabin has driveway plow service that rotates through storms. The West Shore of Lake Tahoe gets a LOT of snow. Access is good, but be prepared for area roads with 4WD, AWD, or chains. The town plow may come through and add a berm in front of the driveway. There's a shovel on hand, be prepared to shovel a bit if the town & driveway plow do not coincide. You may also need to shovel the walkway. During big storms we'll be by sporadically to clear deck, roof & extend walkway. During big storms power can go out. Typically it is out for 1-2 hours and the utility company is great at getting it back up quickly. We do not provide refunds or discounts for power/WiFi outages. During storms we do not provide a refund for snowy roads. We will provide a refund if all roads are closed for 24 hours and getting to the cabin isn't possible. If you are worried at all, we recommend getting travel insurance as we will not provide refunds or switch dates for last minute change requests due to inclement weather. Cleaning fee: For cleaning, we ask that you tidy up and put all trash in the bear bin, to discourage any curious bears from entering the house or rummaging in the trash. This is a residential area and we are committed to staying in line with the chill, quiet nature of the area. The cabin is in mountains and you may encounter various wildlife. Squirrels, raccoons, deer, coyotes, and bears roam the property. Don’t bother them, and they won’t bother you. Do not feed the wildlife. You may encounter various insects both outside and inside the house. Spiders love to come indoors, and we try to minimize that, but sometimes they work their way inside. Pollen & other allergens are present in the Tahoe area. There are no refunds for pollen and other allergens in the air. Wildfires are always a threat to the area. You may encounter smoke from regional fires. There are no refunds for smoky skies; only in the event of mandatory evacuation. Keep Tahoe safe, and do not use flames of any kind in the basin. We recommend purchasing your own Travel Insurance if you are worried about smoke/air quality, weather or needing to cancel for any reason as we have a strict cancelation policy. The guest house has high speed wifi and Hulu/Netflix. However, during a wind event or power outage from a storm losing wifi is a possibility in the mountains. The current hot water heater for the studio is small. There's enough for showers, but please keep them short if you are planning for people to shower consecutively. Parking is uncovered. The driveway can fit 2 vehicles during the winter months. There isn't parking on the street during winter because of the plow system. Host Ratings: Note: 5 star with Airbnb means a great stay not a perfect stay. 4 stars -many issues to fix. 3 stars -major problems with your stay (airbnb will suspend listings for a 3 star review or lower). 2 stars- it should not be listed. 1 star -"I left early it was so terrible". We want to ensure a great, cozy stay at a great price for guests! All the Best and Safe Travels, Paul & Kristi
