The Lake District National Park is within a 30-minute drive giving you access to the many fells for which the area is famous. If something more relaxing is what you are after, then why not take a boat trip on Derwentwater or Lake Windermere and sit back and enjoy the view? If you prefer the coastline, a 30-minute drive will take you to Allonby beach, a superb, long sandy beach in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Solway Coast, with spectacular views across the Solway Firth to the mountains of southern Scotland.
