Intake Bungalow is about 350 yards from the centre of Grassington, which offers a range of country shops, pubs and restaurants, with both fine dining and wholesome pub food on offer. There is also a traditional Yorkshire fish and chip shop and an Indian takeaway. The charming cobbled square and the pretty stone cottages make this one of the honeypot villages of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. In the summer, Grassington plays host to the Grassington Festival which attracts famous bands, singers, poets and artists. In September, the 1940’s Weekend transports us back to WWII, with lots of fantastic uniforms as well as the fashion of the time combine with the music and dances that defined an era. In December, the whole village is transformed into a Victorian Christmas card for 2 weekends. The Dickensian Festival really gets everyone in the Christmas mood. The bustling market town of Skipton is only 9 miles away and boasts a Norman castle standing proudly at the top of its wide cobbled high street. Canal boats nestle in the canal basin in the centre of the town and you can book excursions from here. Other nearby attractions include Bolton Abbey with its majestic riverside ruins, and Brimham Rocks, which is an area filled with strange rock formations and provides a fantastic natural adventure playground for the whole family.
