Home in Savannah
Description
The Starlander resides within a 1920s townhouse that's part home (mine), part guest house, part experimental art project, and a little bit library (I have a few books). I've travelled to over 70 countries, and my favorite stays were not in hotels, but in small guest houses and hostels with private rooms available. I liked the home-grown character of these places, and the chance to interact with the hosts and other guests. I hope to give others a similar opportunity in Savannah at the Starlander. The space I call this one "The Coffee Suite" because it's downstairs along with the full kitchen and front sitting room (and front porch), and therefore the most convenient suite for getting up and enjoying your first cup of coffee in the morning! To be clear - YES - the suite includes its own private bathroom accessed only by those staying in the Coffee Suite. Please note that for the time being the Coffee Suite is available to solo travelers only. Please do not inquire about extra guests. If you need a suite for two, please see the listings for the upstairs suites - the Map Suite and the XL Suite. Guest access All of it, except for my bedroom, and the other guests suites. That means 2 sitting rooms, 2 dens, 2 porches, and a kitchen. During your stay I live here! I'm happy to chat and give advice on what to do and see in Savannah. Just ask. Other things to note Parking is on-street and free. Each side of the street has a once-a-week sweep night when you cannot park there (or you will get a ticket). Sweep times are posted on the street, and again in the foyer. Even on a sweep night, I've never had to park farther away than around the corner, on the same block. While the main downstairs kitchen is available for use when it is not quiet hours, I do not allow stovetop/oven cooking. If this is a deal-breaker for you, write to me and maybe we can work something out.
