Romantic Getaway. The Caboose is a handcrafted replica of an old train carriage, with a small private garden. Set on a small lifestyle property next to our historic farmhouse, only 5 minutes drive from the beach and Takaka township. Great for both summer and winter with a pot belly making it cosy on the colder nights and an outside bath for a romantic soak under the stars. Your stay at the The Caboose in Golden Bay will hopefully be a special experience that you will remember. Close to Takaka and close to the beaches, so perfect as a base for your holiday or as your base to explore the natural wonders Golden Bay has to offer. Motupipi is a small residential area and we're located on the outskirts overlooking farmland and the Kahurangi Mountains in the distance and we believe the placement of the Caboose has a nice rural feel. We have full cell phone reception, but not offer Wifi or television, hoping you will be able to get away from it all for a bit, but there are plenty of books and magazines to keep you occupied and a few games. And just to let you know ... We have neighbours with farms, so where we can control what happens on our own property, we do not have the ability to stop them from working on their properties and therefor we can offer you privacy and cosiness, but how much we would love to we cannot guarantee you absolute silence. Last but not least, the toilet is located in the garden and is a separett villa composting toilet. We understand this is not for everyone and would like you to take notice of this before booking. We are sharing our property and The Caboose, hoping that you will enjoy what we think is a special spot and the good vibe that The Caboose offers and are able to use it as a centrally located base to explore Golden Bay.
