I am happy to provide anything you've forgotten. - Mr. Coffee maker or a French Press and a coffee grinder. There is also have a blender and toaster. -Private shaded patio with grill and patio furniture -It is totally private and connected to the main house through a sunroom which has a library of tourist information and storage for all the extras you might need. -Ample private parking and a separate dedicated entrance. I live in the other side of the house. I am out and about on the lot. The house is passive and active solar with solar electric and solar hot water. I work for Positive Energy Solar in Santa Fe. I aim for as much sustainability as possible. Chimayo is the home of the Santuario most well known for it's Easter pilgrimage still practiced by many locals. Pilgrims walk day and night to come to Chimayo for the Easter holiday. The Sanctuario is open for visitors and is still an active congregation. The traditions of Chimayo are still practiced today including the room of blessed healing dirt. You will also find the best vendors of Chimayo authentic chili there and sample it's green and red goodness. Historians credit Chimayo with having the most intact (still lived in) Spanish Colonial Plaza in New Mexico. Many if not most of the residents of Chimayo are descendants of the Spanish settlers from the 1600's. A museum open in the summers next to Ortega's Weaving Shop will explain. Many art galleries and weavers are in Chimayo and the region. There is a wonderful local restaurant with beautiful hillside tables called 'El Rancho de Chimayo' that has great classic northern New Mexico meals. Paradise Pond is perfect for couples looking to get away for a romantic weekend. Additionally artists, writers, photographers and others who want a peaceful and inspiring natural place to work. For the adventurous it's also centrally located for day trips: 35 minutes to Santa Fe, 60 minutes to the Santa Fe Ski Basin, 75 minutes to Taos, 45 minutes to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs, 45 minutes to Abiquiu (and Ghost Ranch) or Bandelier National Park. There are hidden treasures throughout the region and tom has a lot of knowledge of some off the beaten path spots to visit. I can help you plan your trips if you need local advice. Many events are also worthwhile such as the Native American Ceremonial Dances, Santa Fe's numerous Markets, the Christmas Eve Canyon Road Walk and many more. So stay and relax or go exploring or both. Either way you will enjoy your stay in beautiful Northern New Mexico. Guests have ample private parking and a private entrance. Your suite of one bedroom, full bath and living room/dining/kitchen combination is private as well as a private patio. You are welcome to explore the land, pond and river which I leave wild for the animals and birds. Due to the separation of your rental space and my home by the sunroom we don't even see or hear each other unless you see me out working across the pond or knock on my door to get my attention. I love Chimayo. It's an historical village where 90% of the people living here are descendants of the first Spanish settlers in the late 1600's. There is a lot of rural small scale agriculture with their main crops being their Chimayo chile and the native blue corn. The Santuario de Chimayo is a major attraction and on Easter week hosts the pilgrimage where thousands of people walk to the Sanctuario. There are also many weavers still working in the old traditions. Also it is in the center of the area which includes Taos, Santa Fe and Los Alamos - everything is less than an hour away. Almost no public transportation - a car is a necessity. I am following he AirBnB Covid-19 cleaning protocol. I block out one day between guests to protect you and me. Keeping everyone safe is of the utmost importance. My internet access is improved and I have added a 32 inch SMART TV. I am in a rural area and the internet is not as fast as in urban areas. I have recently upgraded to Starlink internet. This is much better that the previous DSL landline internet. Note that there is air conditioning but that the house is well situated to be passively cooled by night air. That means you leave your windows open at night and I shade the house during the day so no heat builds up.
