A vacation home over 200 years old, with a shared swimming pool and sauna, for an incredible nature experience. The space Casa do Lanço is part of a 25,000m² vineyard estate in a transition zone between the Laurissilva forest and the farmland of São Vicente. The terraced vineyards are home to the Tinta Negra and Verdelho grape varieties, which produce the famous Madeira wine. The property is part of a group of houses where you'll find several gardens with centenary trees, the most notable of which is a large oak tree over 250 years old. According to several historians, this oak was one of the first trees planted on Madeira Island. Various species endemic to the Laurissilva such as tis, vinháticos, barbusanos and loureiros can be found on the property. The house is simply decorated, country and functional, living up to its history but with every comfort for guests. The property has three bedrooms, two with double beds and one with twin beds, and all the rooms have en-suite bathrooms. The spacious living room has a fireplace where you can enjoy the conviviality of your family or friends. Next to the house is an annex, an old hayloft that has been completely renovated to accommodate two more people. Inside the property you can enjoy the shared swimming pool and sauna, a stroll along the stream and the gardens or the yard outside, where you can have breakfast (not included), made every morning by the caretaker. As well as breakfast, you can order the famous "rosquilha" bread or the "caldo da romaria". During your stay, you can take the opportunity to take part in the viticulture process at harvest time or buy the wines available at the house. Area The house is located in the north of the island, more precisely in Rosário, a parish in the municipality of São Vicente. As it is in a more isolated area, there are no shops in the vicinity of the property. A ten-minute drive from the town of São Vicente, you'll find local shops, restaurants, a supermarket and a pharmacy. In the vicinity of the house you have access to several trails and levadas, where you can take the opportunity to stroll and explore our fantastic island on foot. If you want to find other places or activities, the city of Funchal is a 45-minute drive away. Other things to note All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also provide, free of charge, a baby travel crib, high chair and baby bath upon request before check-in. Requests made less than 48 hours before arrival may be subject to an additional fee. All properties are equipped with a first aid kit, fire extinguishers and a fire blanket. For stays of 8 nights or more, a mid-stay service is provided, including the replenishment of bed linen, towels and consumables only. This service is not included for shorter stays.
