While there is no cook top or oven, we do have a refrigerator that freezes ice cream, microwave oven, toaster and Keurig coffee machine. We find most of our guests are eager to taste the local seafood catches and enjoy getting free of the kitchen! Guest access While we regret that we are not accepting children at this time, we do listen to our Guests! We upgraded the bed to a queen. The futon is a double. A new wireless modem has been installed for your use, but a hard wire cable is also available if you need that instead. Cell phones work here! Coffee maker is a Keurig, so bring your favorite coffee pods. Ceiling fans and air conditioners are in each room. We love your ideas for improvement! We honor the privacy of our guests. Musicians love our backyard and have been known to practice on the hilltop. Writers love the tranquility of the treetop view, and many an artist has gained inspiration from the glories of this part of Maine. So, come and see the REAL Maine! Take a ride on a real, working lobster boat and rub elbows with native Mainers over breakfast just down the road at Ruth & Wimpeys or up the street at Chester Pike’s. This is the way life should be! There is a HUGE basket of brochures free for you to dig into! We are located on the quiet side of Frenchman Bay, away from the high tourist areas and cruise ships that dump thousands of people at a time into Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor and Cadillac Mountain are 30 minutes or so away. This may be a tiny bit further away from some spots, but you will appreciate the privacy, the lower rent, and the glories of Maine without the impact of cruise ships and high tourism pressure! The ocean is across the street where working lobster boats float in the harbor. Schoodic Point, where high crashing waves roll in unabated from England, is about 30 minutes or so North. Most visitors miss this part of Acadia National Park and is most loved by our guests! Please note that most ocean front property is privately owned, so be careful not to trespass! Our generous apartment has its own private entrance. The large living room has cable TV. A separate bedroom sleeps beautifully, and there is a large showered restroom. Our guests love our place for its privacy, tranquility and views of nature. Turkeys, deer, and the occasional moose wander in the yard. Mother and baby bear cub just visited us the other day! Make your own Keurig coffee in the morning. Toast your own bagel. Chill your own wine or ice cream in the refrigerator/freezer in the apartment. We also have a microwave. Restaurants are nearby where you can sample the local fare, especially lobster! Golf is available on island of Sorrento. Movies, shopping, fun park, and even a casino are nearby.
