Nestled on a quiet country road, it feels far from town yet is only 4 easy miles from Arcata—home of Cal Poly Humboldt—and 6 miles from Eureka. The clean, freshly decorated space features a queen-sized bed and a full-size futon-style couch, both reported to be very comfortable! Just 4 miles from town, it offers the peaceful feel of the countryside with the convenience of nearby amenities. Guests enjoy access to a fully enclosed, acre-deep backyard complete with a gas grill and hot tub — perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. (Please note: only registered guests are allowed on the property.) This cozy studio is an ideal home base for your Redwood Coast adventures. Whether you’re here to experience the majestic redwoods, pristine coastline, or nearby attractions like Cal Poly Humboldt and Old Town Eureka, the Redwood Retreat offers comfort, charm, and convenience. While our setting feels peaceful and secluded, we’re not within range of public transportation. However, the property is within biking distance to town, and there are several beautiful walking routes right from the doorstep. The Redwood Retreat is a quiet, relaxing space — not a party house. We ask that guests be considerate, follow quiet hours, and wash dishes before departure. We love pets (and have one ourselves!) but ask that they not be allowed on the couch or bed. Please clean up after your pet, and let us know in advance if you plan to bring one. We allow one dog per stay, unless prior arrangements are made. Guest access Guests have access to the fully enclosed acre-deep backyard, which includes a gas grill, and hot tub (9:00 am - 10:00 pm), and fruit trees. Enjoy! Other things to note We provide guests with coffee, tea, sugar, and a complimentary bottle of wine to help you settle in. The mini refrigerator and two-burner cooktop make it easy to prepare simple meals, perfect for short stays.
