The Long Room apartment offers the best contemporary comforts in a charming 17th century beamed room with kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. Relax in your private hot tub and garden (included in price), sit by the river or take in the fantastic views along the valley to the Pensford Viaduct. Bye Mills Farm is in the Chew Valley, a perfect rural retreat by the River Chew in a stunning location with beautiful walks in all directions and ideally located for exploring Bristol, Bath and Wells. The space The Long Room is the oldest part of Grade II Listed Bye Mills Farm, there has been a dwelling here since 1604 and this part may well date from some time in the 1600's. The very low door and low windows are typical of this time. We believe that this may have been the dwelling space over the cider room and kitchen below. Bye Mills is no longer a farm but is surrounded by farmland. The apartment has private area of old fashioned garden, there is an outside patio area with table and chairs, a garden bench and deck chairs when weather permits. However this is not fenced off from the main garden so please be aware that it is not suitable for dogs to be off the lead in it. Room Features; Comfortable kingsize bed with all seasons duvet and extra throws. Double sofa and smart TV Kitchenette with combo microwave oven and fridge with small freezer compartment. Complimentary tea and coffee. Ensuite bathroom with shower, towels and bathrobes. Private Hot tub included -with flip flops to borrow. We can provide maps and binoculars. Bye Mills is family home, the Long Room has a separate entrance and very thick walls and hopefully you will enjoy your stay without realising we are around. But, whilst we will avoid being unduly noisy you should expect sometimes to hear us outside or living normally in our home. Guest access You may use the private back gate to the parking area and the upper patio and walled area behind your apartment for your sole use. You may access as you wish; The upper paddock adjoining the parking area, this goes up the hill and has great views of the valley and Viaduct. We kindly ask you to leave the garden for our use except for the apple harvest when you are welcome to pick as much as you like. Other things to note As mentioned in the house rules this property is not suitable for infants and children under 12 due to its low windows with old glass, furniture and decorative accessories. Only one dog is allowed in the property and must be kept on the lead in the garden as the apartments garden is not fenced off from our garden.
