Description
Our cozy 1830's cabin right down the road from a famous breathtaking view over the Northeast Kingdom. Our cabin is undeniably rustic but furnished with well-loved antiques. Open floor plan - bebdrooms open to house. DSL wifi /smart TV. Natural landscape, right on a well-maintained dirt road not far from the main road & Cabot Village. Note: no pets, children 7yrs and up only. The space House is one floor. Front porch with table and chairs, and a front, side and back lawn (tables, chairs and chair swing on the side lawn). 2nd “bedroom” is very small- just fits two bunk beds and no door. No cell service in the house but wifi calling available. We also have Netflix and Amazon Prime available for watching on the television in the living room as well as a DVD player (in the TV). Our rustic cabin is on a natural landscape, mowed lawn only (no other landscaping) and with some older sheds, farm equipment etc. around. Charcoal grill available, but no fire pit allowed by insurance. In summer, we have fans available but higher elevation and cool night air keep the house a comfortable temperature. During colder months, heating system keeps house at around 65 degrees, so definitely recommend cozy clothes and slippers indoors since the floors can get a bit chilly in the winter. The dirt road is well-maintained but during late fall /winter/early spring months, you will need good snow tires to get to the house because snowfall and other inclement weather is unpredictable. Not near other houses, but can see neighbors across road up on a hill when the leaves are not in, and also a property next door that is uninhabited but has a tractor trailer and trailer about an acre away. Guest access Parking available in the driveway in front of the house. You can walk up and down the road for a great view, but stores in Cabot, and other local towns are a drive. Other things to note Near the VAST trails, with rural roads for biking, hiking, and walking, snowshoeing. Also local microbreweries and even our very own hardware store/restaurant/brewpub right down the hill in the village of Cabot. And, of course, Cabot Creamery - with a Visitor's Center open much of the year, where you can taste all of their award-winning cheeses!
