Cedar Cabin at Ananda Kanan Ozark Retreat Center
Cedar Cabin is a rustic but clean, comfortable refuge surrounded by peaceful nature, within a 30-60 minute drive of several National Scenic Rivers and Ozark attractions like trails, springs and old mills. Just a short walk across the retreat center campus is an outdoor dining patio area where there is wifi and a beautiful view of 3 acre Lake Ananda Kanan. The Lake itself has a trail around it, a canoe, and a dock for swimming or fishing. The cabin contains a fully stocked kitchen for meal preparation, and there are two smaller rooms, one for shower and the other with lavatory and toilet. The main space has a queen bed, a dining table and a sitting area with chair and sofa. Air conditioning and baseboard heaters provide all season climate control. Guests have exclusive use of the cabin during their stay. In addition, they have access to the grounds of the retreat center, including a large lake for hiking, swimming, canoeing or fishing. Near to the cabin is an outdoor pickleball court in a beautiful natural setting. There is also an indoor court in case of weather. As manager of Ananda Kanan Retreat Center, I will greet you when you arrive. I live next door and am not far away if needed. Upon request I will teach a class in yoga or art, and I offer a guided tour of the art gallery on site. Nearby are lots of things to do and see. The National Scenic Rivers are a half hour away. There are several good coffee places in West Plains, a 20 min. drive. Viandel Winery is a 20 min. drive away. We are located in the middle of four different river systems, with opportunities for swimming, floating and historical tours. A short walk from the cabin is the retreat center dining hall, the upstairs of which contains an art gallery featuring the work of the host Michael McClure, a professional artist. The cabin is located next to a large free parking lot. The lake is a short walk from the cabin. In front of the dining hall is an outdoor patio with tables and chairs and a view of the lake. At the retreat center, by request, guests may take a class in yoga and meditation or an art class. There is an art gallery in the dining hall, featuring the work of Michael McClure the airbnb host. Near to the cabin is an outdoor pickle ball court in a beautiful natural setting. In the event of weather there is also an indoor pickle ball court available.
