Some prices are non-refundable. THE STAIRS ARE NARROW, BIKE-UNFRIENDLY, NO LIFT, 3rd FLOOR. THE PRICING IS SET TO PREFER LONGER STAYS—THE PRICE OF ONE-NIGHT STAYS MAY BE PERCEIVED EXCESSIVE. NO OVEN. NO BALCONY. *Pluais Mharcin* has two advantages: 1 - it is right in the middle of the Old Town and most of the best things Girona has to offer are within a 5 min walk, so you can go out and come back at your lesiure; and 2 - it is a *self-catering* apartment (and just above a grocery shop); eating out might be cumbersome and expensive in the long term (even though Girona is said to be a culinary paradise). This is my own place, into which I have put a lot of heart and which used to serve me as a comfortable home. A perfect long-term base for one person (a bit tight for a couple in the long-term), I think. It is an old building from around 1900 which has a lot of character and so does the apartment. The flat is now a cute loft, completely refurbished in early 2019 and again in the spring of 2022. An open-space apartment with wooden beams, a living room/kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom. There is a shared rooftop which has a table and chairs and some plants and a nice view - it is shared but no one else goes up there. A modern air conditioning unit helps relax during the hottest days (although please use it with moderation to save the planet). The place has its flaws, but I hope that is reflected in the price. You cannot beat the location, though. Please note that: 1/ There is no lift and it is the 3rd floor (on quite narrow stairs - carrying a bike up and down is possible, it has been done, but requires an effort, but should be no hassle for a young athlete) and 2/The place has no balcony - it has a small window and it is not the brightest of the apartments around (but there’s a shared rooftop, which is nice and has a table and chairs and plants and no one else goes up there), 3/There is one double bed in it and the other bed is a foldable sofa (in the living room/kitchen area) and 4/Please note there is no oven (there’s a stove/microwave). An a final note - if you are looking for complete peace and tranquility, this is not the right place. The apartment is in the middle of a busy old town - there are people, other apartments, neighbours, air conditioning units, etc. around. There is a certain level of noise (or other disturbance). It is not the apartment’s fault - but such is the area. I think the noise levels are bearable, but if you are sensitive, please be warned. Guest access The apartment can be accessed at any time - a lock-box facilitates self-check-in. You will have access to the entire loft. Other things to note PLEASE CHECK THE CANCELLATION CONDITIONS BEFORE YOU BOOK. Some prices are non-refundable. CHECK-IN: 1 - You will be collect the keys from a lock box on the main entry door. In case of problems, there will be a person on the ground, who will be help you to assist you. 2 - I will be asking you for your passport/ID details before arrival—this is required by the law (I need to register you with the police). I will share access details upon receipt of this information from you. If we meet up, I (or my contact person) will be happy to show you around the city centre and share information on the region. Please note that there’s no oven (there’s a stove and a microwave).
