Montboulard, a 17th-century Charentais farmhouse, offers B&Bs, suites and gîtes for an idyllic stay in France. Montboulard offers easy access to Angoulême, with the warmth of a home and the benefits of a quality property, including a beautiful 15-meter heated swimming pool, extensive forest trails, laundry facilities and easy parking. The space La Vigne is a north-facing, single-storey superior gîte in an 18th-century stone building. At 44 square meters, it has one large bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with wood-burning stove and 1 bathroom. La Vigne has a private garden with barbecue and chairs for two. The garden is fenced to provide a safer space for children or pets. As always, Wi-Fi and pool access are included. Private parking is available. Small and large families love the variety of spaces we offer. Most gîtes have private rear gardens with barbecues for when relaxation is the priority. Many have offices when work is required. Most have wood-burning fireplaces and firewood included - perfect for a cosy evening in. WIFI is available. The gîtes have fully equipped kitchens and barbecues. Fresh and prepared foods are available from nearby supermarkets, organic and specialty stores and daily markets. Our 15x6-meter heated swimming pool has large decks and landscaping. In addition to hiking and biking, you can enjoy our petanque and volleyball courts, ping-pong and croquet, all at your own rate. Guest access Just a few minutes from the N10, between Poitiers and Bordeaux, lies Angoulême, the comic book capital and gateway to Périgord, the Dordogne and the French Atlantic coast. We are surrounded by 40 hectares of woodland, with a private courtyard and tower, and only 12 minutes from the center of Angoulême. We provide a relaxing haven from which to explore the region, its restaurants, vineyards, ruins and historic sites. Dining options are numerous, from Michelin-starred establishments to local dishes and fast casual dining. Montboulard is equidistant from the beaches of the Atlantic and the destinations of the Dordogne. Closer to home, Angoulême is famous for its festivals, culture and ancient city center. Outdoor activities for adults and children abound -- kayaking, boating, swimming, zip-lining, biking, hiking and horseback riding. There are several large grocery stores and supermarkets within five minutes, as well as nearly 40 restaurants (we'll tell you our favorites) within 10-15 minutes in Angoulême, Soyaux and the surrounding area. Please let us know in advance if you want to upgrade your stay.
