This home is located outside the rural town of Phillips and is an outdoor adventurer's dream come true. It is an ideal basecamp for all of your outdoor activities. Its located in close proximity to 3 downhill ski areas, hundreds of miles of cross country ski trails, hundred of miles of ATV & Snowmobile trails, not to mention the Appalachian Trail. Back in the late 1800’s this home was built for a small family of farmers who wanted to live just outside of the bustling town of Phillips. In the early 1920’s the family lost everything and the home was sold to a wealthy merchant who lived nearby. The merchant converted the home into a barn for his draft horses and it remained in use as a barn for the next 40 years. When the merchant passed away, the structure sat vacant for roughly 10 years until my Uncle Charles & Aunt Mary decided to purchase the property. Charles was a carpenter from New Jersey and made this house his final project….. that he never really finished. Charles passed away early in life leaving Mary to create the home that you see today.
