The beach-side location was spectacular, the accommodation and amenities 5 star, and the gardens and outdoor living spaces were so relaxing to spend time in. The views from within the house were absolutely stunning. The hosts were extremely helpful and welcoming to our large group of family and friends - they have set up the property with a generosity that is often missing from Airbnb experiences. A big, spacious comfortable home with lots of thougtful details that make a stay memorable. Amazing views and direct access to the beach were just the beginning. The home had an actual chefs kitchen complete with butler pantry and an all important second fridge so ideal for a family get together for a celebration, loads of equipment and several dining areas, inside and al fresco. Numerous living areas and five comfortable bedrooms as well as three spacious bathrooms. Large living space with views and excess comfortable seating for a large group, no skimping on facilities either and we were told to use extra linen if needed and to help ourselves to anything from the kitchen garden. The host was welcoming, generous and a fantastic communicator. This is a seriously amazing property, highly recommended especially for large family gatherings or friends getting together. They thought of everything - especially in the kitchen, which had every imaginable utensil and good quality pots and pans and… well everything really! The house was clean, there was plenty of space for all of us, the fire had plenty of wood stacked and was roaring when we arrived. Amazing sound system and pool table provided much entertainment. Views from every room, lovely bedrooms with comfortable beds. Lots of outdoor areas amongst the gardens and fire pot. We enjoyed the beachfront position with spectacular views. A relaxed, stylish and spacious beach house, extremely comfortable and well equipped. Light and airy bedrooms, smart bathrooms and plenty of outdoor areas for drinks and dining. A group of friends and I absolutely loved our stay at Saltcotes. The house is gorgeous, well appointed with everything you could need (and more) and has lots of room for people to interact or be in separate places. The location is stunning, the views are to-die-for and there are wonderful rambles to be had right on your doorstep. A property we will return to. Saltcotes had everything we wanted and perfect for 2 families for an 8 day stay. We loved the fire, the pool table, board games, kayaks, fishing rods, herb garden and everything you need and want in the kitchen. Two Fridges allowed us to buy up big at Hill St Store (recommended by Frances and an absolute must for your groceries). With 3 bathrooms there were never any issues. So many magazines and great books to read. The outdoor lounges were a perfect way to laze the afternoon away enjoying the magnificent water views. Saltcotes is the pick of the properties in Opossum Bay. With neighbours a good distance away we felt secluded and private but at the same time only a few minutes walk to the little shop. There were lots of life vests to choose from and 3 kayaks enabling 4 people on the water at any one time. Hobart is less than 40 mins away, so quite easy to get to as are the wineries.
