Description

My newly-renovated vacation home is the perfect spot to enjoy all that Valencia has to offer, whether it be the sights, the Old Town, an exquisite culinary experience or easy access to areas such as the beach or City of Arts and Sciences. It's a nice blend of old and new, never forgetting you are in Spain, while being comfortable and enjoying modern conveniences. The space Welcome to my personal vacation home, a place designed towards my own wishes of what I would want to experience while staying at a Spanish holiday rental. This home just finished being renovated (December 2016) and though I am not able to enjoy it personally yet, I do hope others will on my behalf. There is a pull-out day bed that easily accommodates two people, while having the option to push it in, if traveling solo, to allow for more room. The sofa in the living room also converts to a double bed, perfect if you are traveling with a friend. Please enjoy the AC for those long, hot Spanish days and free wifi. The main asset to this apartment would be the location as it is centrally located to all points of interest within Valencia. One of the things I love about this city is you can walk everywhere, but there are also many easy modes of public transportation if you prefer, or are going outside the city center such as to the beach, Bioparc, airport or City of Arts and Sciences. Conveniently, there is also a taxi stand just steps away downstairs. What I personally enjoyed about this apartment while visiting during the summer, was going downstairs to one of the many cafes for my morning people-watching coffee, then walking into the Mercado Central for fresh fruit and produce for the day. Meandering through the impressive array of goods was such a treat and something I hope you experience while in Valencia. Please note that the flat is located in an 1880 building in the historic city center, on the second floor without an elevator and with narrow stairs. Other things to note While there is heavy foot traffic outside due to the Mercado and cafes, it is pretty quiet inside the apartment. No cars have access directly in front and the Mercado closes by the early afternoon so evenings are quiet. I very much want to retain that integrity so please, no loud music after 10:00pm and parties are strictly prohibited. If there are repeated complaints, I will have to ask you to leave the premises. Smoking is permitted on the balcony only and please be sure to turn off the AC while away from the apartment. The building of my apartment is very old and protected by the city so there is no elevator. Mine is located on the second floor but please take caution while going up and down the narrow stairwell. It was newly renovated this past summer, and while it is beautiful with a traditional Spanish feel, it has low "hobbit-like" ceilings... in other words, please watch your head. For those new to Valencia, here are some of the major attractions to research: The City of Arts and Sciences (Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias): State of the art culture and science center made up of an aquarium (L'Oceanogràfic), science museum (El Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe) , opera house and performing arts center (El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia) , botanical garden (L'Umbracle), and IMAX theater, planetarium and laserium (L'Hemisfèric). Mercado Central: Restored market with over 1000 stalls. El Carmen: The Old Town. Plaza de la Virgen Plaza de la Reina Bioparc: Wild animals in very naturalistic habitats. Cathedral: From the 13th century Jardin del Turia: The old river bed that is now filled with gardens, bike paths and parks running through the whole city. La Lonja: The beautiful building of the old silk exchange and, of course, the beaches on the Mediterranean (Las Arenas, Malvarrosa and El Canbanyal are the main ones) Registration No. VT-41451-V Registration Details Valencia - Regional registration number VT-41451-V Spain - National registration number ESFCTU00004605500026653800000000000000000000VT41451V5
