Clutterbuck House
Clutterbuck House
Description
The house was built in 1580 by Richard Clutterbuck a wealthy wool merchant. We bought the house 20 years ago as a wreck and renovated it so we now have 3 letting rooms all with ensuite bathrooms, we have 2 rescue dogs and welcome all animals. Please note this listing is for 1 room only that sleeps 2 people. Please note that if you are bringing dogs they cannot stay in the rooms unattended for long periods. The space We purchased the house 10 years ago as a wreck and we hope sympathetically restored to it's former glory, in keeping with it's age we have taken great care in furnishing the rooms with antique furniture and interesting curio's. All rooms are equipped with a microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, TV, DVD ( I have a large selection of DVD's ) and of course WIFI. Breakfast includes, cereal,OJ, fruit, muffin's etc etc ...you will not be leaving hungry !! Guest access During the warmer months you can use the summer house and the table and chairs to eat alfresco , there is also a sitting room on the top floor of our house to use . During your stay Upon arrival we will give you keys so you will be free to come and go as you please, I'm happy to make reservations for dinner as places do get booked up. Other things to note Leonard Stanley is a small village in a peaceful location close to the Cotswold Way and about 10 mins from Stroud with it's award winning farmers market on a Saturday. In the village is a small pub, 12th century church and home to Godsell cheese which is only one of 5 farms in the country that makes single Gloucester , cheese can be purchased from the farm upon request. We are 10 mins from Frampton upon Severn which boast's the longest village green in the country and has some of the best walks and country house's, should you want to linger it also has a pub and a great village cafe. Other places to visit are, Berkeley Castle 25 min drive,Sudeley Castle 1 hour but there is plenty to see in the area, Slimbridge Wildfowl trust 15 mins, Rodmarton Manor (Arts and Crafts house ) 20 mins, Cirencester 25 mins ( Roman capital of Britain), Westonbirt Arboretum 20 mins , Bath 50 mins, and Wallsworth 17th century manor now and nature in art gallery.....plus many more to mention.
