The long process of selecting, reusing, composing, assembling and at times handcrafting most of the appartment furniture was inspired by the fact that in 1500 the neighborhood was populated by handicrafters that made wooden fruit boxes (casse) and other wooden objects from which the street name (Cassari=wooden box handicrafters) originated. The materials used to renovate the apartment and the entire building also reflect and reproduce the ancient usage of white wood (roof) and marble balconies.
