Located in the Unesco World Heritage Site of Galle Fort,this charming two-story home with courtyard and garden has been designed by one of Sri-Lanka’s leading architects,Channa Daswatta. The home has been transformed into a beautiful space and is owned by a family with historical connections to the Galle Fort. It houses a small part of their art collection which hangs throughout the building. Ideally located,bang in the middle of the FORT on Church street, a stone’s throw from the Barefoot shop. The space The property is spacious and cool and is ideal for the traveler who likes to ‘sit’ for a while, away from the excitement and activity of the fort. It’s great space to work in, or just escape to ‘be’. The downstairs is designed ingeniously with roller doors that can be open to let the breeze in or shut for added privacy. It has two bedrooms both en- suite, and the queen sized comfortable mattresses ensure a truly good nights’ sleep. The bed rooms are air-conditioned. They also have latticed windows that can be open with the fans turned on, or, closed at will. There is a dry kitchen with access to a fridge, microwave, and a blender. Please note that if you need to stock up there are well-stocked supermarkets just outside the Fort, where you can buy fruit, and cheese to nibble on while seated at the dining table exchanging stories well into the night.
