Wild Olive Cottage is situated in the grassy Karoo town of Bethulie. It is one of the oldest homes in the area built in 1882. This home has been lovingly restored over a number of years and is a charming example of simple country living. Located near the N1 highway, Wild Olive Cottage is a perfect retreat for travelers between Gauteng, the Eastern & Western Cape, and KZN. Wild Olive Cottage offers a comfortable and peaceful atmosphere, tranquil environment, natural beauty and old world charm. The space Wild Olive Cottage is a fine example of a classic Karoo home built in the late 1800's. The space has been lovingly restored over a period of more than 5 years and maintains the original character with modern convenience. It i perfect for those travelling looking for a place to rest for an evening or those who want to spend some time relaxing in a small Karoo town. Guest access During your stay at Wild Olive Cottage you will have full access to this renovated country cottage. As this is a family home we ask that you respect our space whilst enjoying your stay. Wild Olive Cottage shares a sprawling garden with Bethulie Manor. The two homes are located on separate yet joined properties. Due to the layout each home has its own amenities. Other things to note The local stores cater for all basic requirements and have friendly staff. Shops close by 13:00 (1pm) on weekends and by 17:00 (5pm) during the week. There are two ATM's and one petrol station that is open from 07:00 (7am) to 17:00 (5pm). Local produce is available from a small group of shops and there is a limited after-hours trade. Die Ou Kar is a great choice for daytime and evening meals if you are not in the mood to cook. There are no shops or restaurants open after lunchtime on a Sunday, should you be a weekend guests please bear this in mind when planning your trip.
