There is a hose by the laundry room door to hose down cycles (or dogs or very muddy boots!) Bleaberry is one of 3 small cottages in our 1860's barn and is set on our 5 acre rural estate of Brackenrigg Holiday Cottages. There is a Victorian house about 75m away - and you share the estate overall - including the woodland, but there is ample space, including your own parking. The barn has been carefully converted retaining some original features, according to national park planners requirements. The barn is a delightful old building with character and quirks. You may occasionally hear creaking floor boards for instance. (Although there is insulation) If you prefer a characterless modern box, Bleaberry isn’t for you. On our rural estate, we are proud of our re-wilding projects, converting a 3 acre paddock to woodland and a large wildlife pond of 1/2 acre. There is plenty of wildlife, including badgers, red squirrels, occasional deer, many many song birds, stoats, foxes, owls and bats all of which we positively encourage, and of course, much else besides! In 2025 we’ve had 3 moth surveys with 70+ different species of moth identified As with any rural property which is over 150 years old, especially one where we encourage wildlife, you may find the occasional spindly tiny little spiders/cobweb - we clear any of these out on changeover days of course, but sometimes escapees manage to evade the broom or drift in on the breeze! I trust such things will be taken in your stride. Enjoy the countryside!. Guest access Self contained studio cottage, in converted 18th C barn (2 other cottages in the same converted barn, each with own external front door), shared laundry room, shared gardens and grounds extending to 5 acres. Other things to note Bleaberry cottage welcomes one small to medium well behaved dog. We have several acres of re-wilding meadow and woodland for your dog to roam around off lead (accompanied of course). We ask that your dog is on a lead around the gardens of the estate. We encourage wildlife, and have included some photos taken by guests around the grounds at Brackenrigg Holiday Cottages
