Tistocker's log cabin Somerset 2 dogs allowed

Situated in rural South Somerset and close to Dorset, Tistocker's log cabin is a unique and peaceful retreat set in 2 acres with great views, starry skies and beautiful sunsets. This is a comfortable place to relax and escape, and an ideal base to explore famous local surroundings such as Lyme Regis and Glastonbury which are within easy driving distance. Lots of great dog walking areas and amazing wildlife. Fantastic village pub within walking distance. Please note we allow up to 2 dogs only. The space You have the cabin, the decked terrace, the barbeque, and the middle field to yourself. We refer to the middle field as 'The Dog Field', as it's where you have access and freedom to run your dogs off-lead, to their heart's content. This field is surrounded by hedges and there are two metal gates either side, which can be closed if needed. Please note. we are a smallholding with chickens, quail, a couple of pigs and a couple of sheep- these are securely fenced but next to the dog field area, so if you need to ask us about this before booking, send us a message and we can give more details. We do ask for well behaved dogs for this reason. We want our livestock to be safe, and dogs to be happy. Parking is included and is right outside the cabin. Sorry, but we don't do EV charging here, but are happy to help direct you to the closest local points if needed. The cabin is all single storey with one bedroom, a comfortable double bed and an en suite. The en suite has a large double shower, toilet and basin. The kitchen is complete with a microwave, induction hob, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, fridge, and a mini oven. Please note, there is no freezer in the cabin, but we are happy to freeze items for you in our garage freezer if needed. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, herbal teas, coffee pods, sugar, cooking oil and seasoning are provided. There is also a mini jar of fresh milk and handmade brownies. Towels, bedlinen, blankets, cushions, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and toilet paper are provided. There is a Dog Basket with dog towel, dog blankets, toys, bowl, mats and poo bags. Dogs are allowed everywhere, but we do ask that if you want dog cuddles on the bed, to please bring your own bedding/blankets to cover our bedding with. Guest access The cabin is set well off a quiet lane, in a gated setting next to fields. Car parking is next to the cabin, in a space marked Tistockers Parking. The fields lead onto a public footpath for great local walks. There is a field next to the cabin where your dogs can run around to their heart's content. Our house is just across the lane, a few minutes walk away from the cabin. We live a self-sufficient lifestyle on our smallholding, growing our own fruit and veg as much as possible, alongside our chickens and quail (and sometimes pigs and sheep). You may occasionally see guests walking across the field on their way to our other accommodation- Fjell Hytte Shepherd's Hut, which is located two fields down from the Cabin. Other things to note We allow 2 well-behaved dogs. Please do not bring extra pets. Please make sure upon booking that you include your dog(s) in the booking - (click on 'Edit' next to guest to add either 1 or 2 pets) - as we need to know exactly who to prepare for, as well as for fire safety- that includes your furry friends! 🐾 The log cabin is a truly quirky and unique accommodation which has been beautifully decorated with many hand made furniture and furnishings, american style vintage signs and memorabilia giving it a funky route 66 American-style feel. A soft leather couch and a large leather armchair face towards patio doors, which open up to stunning views across fields. Come and enjoy seeing the many birds which live and feed around the patio area of the cabin. We have had many guests photograph wildlife they've never managed to capture before! We often see Great Spotted woodpeckers, Green Woodpeckers, Owls, Bats, Coal Tits, Thrush and many of the more common varieties. We also have seen wild deer in our Paddock. A beautiful retro log burner provide warmth on those chilly days. Escape it all in your own little slice of heaven in the depths of beautiful Somerset. The cabin is a perfect central base to explore the many beauties of Somerset and Dorset.
