Noise: The house is located on the Kalk Bay main road. It overlooks the railway line and harbor. You will hear both road noise and train noise. If you are a light sleeper ear plugs can be beneficial or maybe this space isn’t for you. Unfortunately, this is a part of the overall vibe that makes up the Kalk Bay buzz. Loadshedding: Unfortunately, South Africa is dealing with rolling blackouts on a scheduled basis. This means that power outages are scheduled for up to 4 hours at a time, depending on the schedule. We do not have a backup generator in the building to mitigate this. We do provide electric lanterns. Load shedding is an unfortunate reality for the country that affects 80% of the population. Prior to your stay, we require you to complete a pre-arrival form and sign & agree to our rental conditions.
