In the middle of VA wine country and only minutes from the Appalachian Trail, enjoy a private apartment in our mountain home with a separate entrance and your own deck with views of the Shenandoah Valley. There is a hot tub on the deck and a fire pit overlooking the valley. Plenty of wildlife. A welcome basket includes breakfast items. Our home is on a peaceful 10-acre mountain retreat in the middle of the woods. Since we are located on a higher elevation temperatures can average 6 to 8 degrees cooler than the surrounding area. The apartment has a Mini Fridge, Microwave, Electric Kettle, Drip Coffee Maker, and ROKU TV for your use. We recently opened (Jan 2020) an additional private guesthouse on our property. The guesthouse is a larger space in a detached building with a full kitchen and separate bedroom. It is listed on Airbnb as Skyhourse Retreat Guest House. Winter Note: The higher elevation also means ice and snow are much longer here than in the valley. While we are constantly clearing the deck, stairs, and road, we have no control over Mother Nature and cannot guarantee that the area is free of ice and snow. In particularly snowy weather, we may advise that you will need a four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle. Internet Note: We cannot guarantee that the internet will be up and running 100% of the time due to the nature of the point-to-point wireless connection with the ISP. Strong winds often knock the ISP towers out of calibration, and the company is not the fastest to respond. You have access to a private deck and hot tub with phenomenal views of the Shenandoah Valley. There is also a fire pit, with plenty of firewood and kindling, for you to use if you would like to sit outside in the evening. When you arrive we will greet you if we are home. We live and work on the property, so you may see us in the garden or the fields. On rare occasions we may have to access the laundry room. We normally do this when you are out or will coordinate a good time with you. We are always available to answer questions, provide directions or suggestions for local wineries or restaurants. Peaceful, and quiet, on top of a mountain, it's normally 6 to 10 degrees cooler than the valley. We are equidistant between Berryville and Purcellville (10 miles each way). We are about five miles from the small town of Pine Grove, which has The Horseshoe Curve (live music, bar, and restaurant), the Pine Grove Market and Deli (grocery essentials, plus will deliver pizza on the weekends!) Uber will come out to our house, but it's hit or miss depending on the driver. There may be an extended wait time and limited hours of availability. We are located a short distance from the Appalachian Trail and numerous wineries, breweries & distilleries.
