The space The unique architecture of this house created by a great architect of the 1930s has seen the celebrities of the interwar period; artists, musicians, aviators, politicians. A house full of charm and history. Property description Built in 1933, according to the golden ratio, in the stones of the Maures, by a well-known architect who has his stele in Fréjus, this property is nestled in the middle of a plot of eleven hectares covered with oaks, pines, junipers, olive trees, cypresses and all the essences that characterize the Var scrubland. It overlooks the Argens valley, facing the first foothills of the Esterel. Twenty minutes from the sea (Les Issambres, La Nartelle commune of Sainte Maxime), this house is a true haven of peace and tranquility. Here it is the charm that characterizes the whole. The different dry stone walls, the large patio built like a cloister, the pool area and the paths that allow you to crisscross the property create a perfect harmony with the surrounding nature. Villa of 250 m2, 5 double bedrooms, 3 extra beds for one person. Three bedrooms are air-conditioned as well as the living and dining room. Two bedrooms are not, it is not justified, being on the north side they are always cool. The house is accessed by a private road that ends in the parking space. Access to the house is through the covered patio, with columns in Travertine, designed as a Romanesque cloister. The breezes that pass through it make it a great place to relax and for aperitifs. Meals are taken either at the pool, under the patio, or on the large terrace under a century-old olive tree. (There is a plancha at this level). The plot in the evening is lit, as is the entire pool. We enter the house through a small living room that serves as an indoor dining room. It overlooks the living room which gives a great feeling of space because it is open to the first floor by a round mezzanine bordered by a wrought iron railing. On the 1st floor: there is a library, a small apartment consisting of a double bedroom, air-conditioned, a bathroom with shower and toilet, as well as a small bedroom ideal for a baby. A small alcove on the mezzanine has an extra bed for one person. On the other side of the mezzanine, a small desk area with coffee table, sofa, large bookcase and a piano. On the ground floor: The kitchen is fully equipped (large double oven and hob), dishwasher, American refrigerator, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, etc. A corridor along the patio provides access to the master bedroom (large bedroom with rounded ceiling, air-conditioned, double bed. Next to it, a marble bathroom with bathtub and shower. Separate toilet. Below, a garden level: An internal staircase provides access to an apartment on the restanque level, with independent entrances. It consists of a small living room with an extra bed for one person, two double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom with shower and separate toilet. Between the two bedrooms, a laundry area, with small kitchen, fridge, freezer, microwave. A small apartment under the pool: Under the pool deck, opening onto a terrace and a view of the Argens valley, a studio comprising a large bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with a very large shower and a separate toilet. Another bedroom under the caretaker's house. This double bedroom, with toilet, shower and separate toilet is low ceiling. It is suitable for teenagers or staff. It is located right next to the main house. This is a rarely occupied spare room. It is not included in the rental. The pool area: In addition to many shaded terraces, the pool area is accessed by stone stairs, two terraces lower than the patio. This space consists of more than 350 m2 of terracotta beaches, for a pool of 14 x 5.5 m2, with spa and automatic cover. Protected by bignonia, jasmine and rose bushes, running on the reeds, the pool house includes a dining room table with armchairs and bench, a very large plancha, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, an outdoor shower. Hidden under the olive trees, close to the patio, a petanque court and hammocks. Amenities: Internet connection, Wi-Fi. Hi-Fi. Large screen TV, with Orange TV, Netflix, CanalSat and OCS. DVD player. Services: A caretaker lives on site. She takes care of all the problems that may arise, the maintenance of the pool, the garden. She also does the cleaning: 2 hours are included per week. She can do more on request (€15/h). She receives the tenants and has them sign the departure form. She prepares the house before the tenants arrive and restores the house after their departure (A fixed price of 1000 euros is to be paid directly to the housekeeper when leaving). It is not included in the overall price. A gardener also comes every day, to maintain the house and ensure that there are no problems. Linens and towels provided, changed weekly. Pool bath sheets are not provided. Location: 3 km from the village of Roquebrune sur Argens. 10 minutes from the entrances of the A7 highway (20 minutes from Cannes, 45 minutes from Nice airport), 15 minutes from Fréjus, 20 minutes from the beaches of Les Issambres or La Nartelle, Sainte Maxime. In summer, access to St Tropez by road is difficult, we go by a shuttle boat from Ste Maxime or Les Issambres (10-minute crossing). Direct arrival at the port. The house is ideally placed for sports activities: within 20 minutes of five golf courses. Tennis lessons 5 minutes from the house. Numerous possibilities for waterskiing, sailing, horseback riding, pond fishing, tree climbing, etc. Pricing: July and August: €7,500 per week. Rental exclusively by fortnight (2 weeks), renewable. The rental is established for ten people (5 bedrooms). 3 beds 1 person can be occupied. They were not included in the rental. If they are occupied, a price of €80 per night is to be expected. The caretaker who lives on the premises must be notified. A deposit by check of 5000 euros is required. It is not put in the bank and is returned to the tenant at the time of their departure, after the inventory. Guest access Guests will have the entire house as well as the eleven-hectare plot that extends over a hill with two marked paths, the rest being quite rugged maquis. Other things to note The house is air-conditioned: three bedrooms, the living room and the dining room.
